Chad sat next to Yessa. He then looked at the snacks we ordered and winced. “It screams diabetes to me,” he said. “Killjoy,” Yessa muttered. Chad raised his hand to get the waiter’s attention who gave him a copy of the menu when he got near him. Chad quickly scanned the food list and ordered. “Two of the Pate a Choux,” he told the waiter who jotted down what he wants. I looked at Yessa and Kyle. “What did he say?” she asked me. I also don’t know what kind of food Chad wanted to get so I shrugged. The four of us fell into silence. I keep on avoiding Chad’s gazes.
