“Oh, my! Chad?!” I called for him, my voice in pure panic. “What should I do?”
“I know. I know,” he responded. “Let me think a bit.”
“Participants, please proceed forward and make a line,” the game master instructed.
“s**t,” I heard Chad cuss. “Try to go last and reserve my spot.”
He suddenly left without me being able to speak.
“Chad?! Where the hell are you going?!” I shouted. He didn’t respond and just continued running. I walked towards the line my teammates have made.
“Unicorn squad, there’s only nine in your team,” the game master noticed as he walked around to check. My teammates looked at each other, confused by Chad’s sudden disappearance.
“Where is Chad?” one of them asked me but I don’t know what to say; so, I just shrugged.
“You need one more member so we can start,”
