I quickly took a shower and changed into my pajamas. As I dry my hair using my towel, I sat down at the edge of my bed. I picked up my comic book and started to read. I was really occupied by what’s happening within the novel that I didn’t notice the door open.
“Where’s Kyle?” Kuya Peejay asked which startled me. I almost dropped my book but I quickly caught it before it landed on the floor.
“I’m not sure,” I replied. “He’s with his friends, I guess.”
He nodded.
“I’ll be going out with my friends, too,” he said. I just nodded and continued to read. “Are you okay being alone here?”
“Sure thing,” I replied. He walked towards his bed and opened his travel bag to get a shirt.
“I’ll go, then,” he said after he changed his clothes. I watched him walk out the door. I continued reading.
