The Syndicate cornered them at an old lighthouse.
Wind howled. Waves crashed.
The leader stepped forward. “End this, Kai.”
Lia stepped in front of him. “Over my dramatic, stubborn body.”
The fight was loud, messy, desperate.
Kai uploaded the final shutdown code while Lia distracted everyone by being aggressively brave.
Explosions shook the lighthouse.
At the last second, they jumped.
They hit the water hard—and surfaced laughing.
Sirens followed.
The Syndicate was finished.
For real this time.
Chapter 5: Still Chased, Still Us (Ending)
Weeks later, life slowed again.
Lia and Kai sat on a rooftop, watching the city lights.
“No explosions,” Lia said suspiciously.
Kai smiled. “Give it time.”
She leaned against him. “Even if chaos comes back… we’ll handle it.”
He squeezed her hand. “Together.”
Some people are chased by chaos.
Some people run from it.
They walked straight into it—hand in hand.
