When Mr King was going back from the funeral, and was on his way back home, sitting in the car and was passing by the beach.
He saw the empty beach with such heavy rainfall and wild wind.
He asked his driver to stop the car for a moment.
Aaron King is now sitting in his car, admiring the raining view and suddenly his eyes fixed on the little girl who was standing at the bench and looking up in the sky, screaming.
Aaron's POV:
I wander through the lonely street, there was only me and the gloom of the night, I lighted up a cigarette and I was thinking deeply about my life, yes my life, really messed up I don’t know any more what I was doing; I had a great family but I have left them for the woman. I understand that I’ve lost them, forever. Everything has changed not only my life but also every face I meet it seems different, my friends, but does the friendship exist? How does it feel being faithful and trustable? I really don’t know anymore who I am, where I’m supposed to be? I have a lot of questions but there is only one answer: everybody makes mistakes, for love or just because they don’t know any more what they are doing. For the world, I'm Aaron King, the ruthless and well-reputed business king but for myself, I'm just a broken little soul, who is tired of betrayal. Every other person I meet is either interested in my business or they are too afraid of me. I didn't want to make myself like that and here I am all alone. People think my life is perfect, I can have whatever I want but they don't understand I just want love. The thunderstorm defines perfectly of me. The battle I'm having with myself deep inside.
His eyes again got fixed on the girl, he slowly lowered the glass of the car window.
"Why? Why did you leave me so early? I miss you, mom and dad!" He heard the loud and sharp scream of a girl.
"Family. Always makes the person weak." he murmured and shook his head in pity.
Then, he asked the driver to go from here.
When he reached home, he simply removed his tux and loosened the tie, opened first two buttons of his shirt and sit on the luxury sofa.
"Kate!" shouted Attwood.
A lady in late fifties came running with a bottle of wine and glass, placed it on the table quietly.
Attwood poured the wine on glass and handed it to Mr King.
"Attwood I need you to go to the beach." he took a sip of his drink.
"Pardon! Did I heard the word 'beach'?" he asked respectively.
"Yes. When we were coming back from the funeral, I saw someone there. Maybe the person needs some help." he said politely.
"Okay, sir. I'll go and check." As Attwood was about to leave, Aaron interrupted him by saying,
"Here! In case the person might need this. " he handed him his tux, Attwood smiled and left from there.
When he reached the beach, he saw the little girl was sitting there.
The rain had stopped but the dark clouds were covering the whole sky.
"Miss take this, you'll get sick." He offered the coat.
She was crying, turned her face and shook her head.
"Miss. Trust me, you need this." he placed the coat on her back.
"Why are you helping me?" she asked sobbing.
"My boss saw you here, he asked me to help you." he smiled.
"Well. Thank your boss for me." she gave a weak smile.
"This thunderstorm won't stop soon, let me drop you home." He said respectively.
"No, it's okay...... I" she was interrupted by Attwood saying," Miss, please. If someone from media sees you here, they'll not leave you so easily."
"You know me?" she asked surprised.
"Of course. Everybody knows you." He smiled.
"Yea. Everybody knows Saraya Bentley, the p********e," she said in pity.
"No Ma'am, it's not that. You're a great actress too," he said.
"Let's go now." He added.
Attwood dropped her home and went to Mr King's villa.
"Attwood. You're late." Mr King stepped down the stairs wearing his silk black gown.
"I dropped her home," he said.
"Who?" asked Aaron.
"Miss. Bentley," he replied.
"Who is Bentley?" he asked raising a brow.
"The girl you saw at the beach was Miss. Saraya Bentley," he replied.
"The p********e?" asked Aaron.
"And a wonderful actress." he nodded.
Mr King looks him confused with a raising brow.
"So? What's the matter with her?" he asked yawning.
"She had an argument with someone at Emily Carlton's funeral. Someone insulted her for her character." he shook his head in pity.
"Such a pretty and intelligent woman she is," he added.
"Just a meeting with her and already a fan?" Aaron asked smirking.
Just then, Aaron's phone rang, he saw the name on the phone screen and rolled his eyes. "If you don't want to talk, I can talk," said Attwood.
Aaron handed him the phone. "Hello. Miss. Carlton. I'm afraid he's resting. Tomorrow? Okay. Have a good night, Miss. Carlton." he ended up the call.
"You are invited tomorrow morning at Carlton's for breakfast," he said.
When Saraya reached home, changed her clothes and went to bed sad.
Her mood was down and she doesn't want to talk to anyone.
She texted to those who were calling her.
She spends an hour toss and turning but couldn't sleep. She got up and walked to her music room, picked up her violin and played her favourite tune, tears started falling from her eyes and she got lost in the memory lane.
Next day at Jacob's house, a breakfast gathering was hosted by Megan, where she invited a few close friends.
She called all of Jacob's friends except Saraya.
Mr King reaches Carlton villa and was welcomed by Megan and Chris.
When all the guests arrived, she took them to the garden where a big table was fully decorated with food.
Jacob came with Dana and asked about Saraya.
"Well, Jacob. I didn't invite her." she smiled wincing.
Mr King was sitting at the breakfast table, folded his hands and listened to the argument.
"Why didn't you invited Raya? Don't you know she's my best friend." Jacob gave her the icy stare.
"Well..... I..." Megan tried to change the topic, just then Jacob held Dana's hand and left from there saying," If she's not here then I don't want to have breakfast with any of my friends."
Megan stared him blankly then turned to the guests, smiled and said," I'm sorry. He's in a bad mood since the mother's funeral."
They had breakfast in silence and one by one everybody left only Mr King remained sitting there. Megan and Aaron went on the couch by the pool and had coffee.
"So, Aaron, only you and me are left here. What do you wanna talk about?" she winked him.
"It's Mr King, Megan." he took a sip of his coffee.
"Oh come on. Nobody's here. I can call you Aaron like old times." she said winking him again.
"Old times? I hate that time." he smiled gently.
"Oh, Aaron. I know you still love me," she smirked.
"I'm over you. I forgot you years ago." he smiled.
Megan got up and walked to him, placed her hands on his shoulders and said," We are alone here. Let's repeat the history." she tried to seduce him.
He looked into her eyes, then jolted her hands, got up, shrugged his tuxedo and without saying a word left from there.
"I won't leave you easily." Megan murmured.
Aaron went his office 'The King Corporations' which was located at the 30th-floor building, stylishly and elegantly built.
After a few hours, he leaned back on the chair, his intercom ring.
"Yes? Who is it? Send her in."
After a few minutes, a girl walked in and sat on the seat.
"I came here to apologize," said Megan.
"It's okay," he replied. "You've changed a lot....... Mr King." Megan said staring him.
"How?" he asked unaware.
"Your appearance. Look at you, all gentleman. And your anger? You've controlled your anger. You were such a bad guy back then." she said.
"Well, people do change. Plus I'm a reputed businessman now." he smiled.
"You are all over the magazines. And everybody is waiting for your wedding or announcement of your girlfriend," said Megan.
"Not yet. I'm not getting married, yet. And I'm not interested in girlfriends. They just want me for money." said Aaron.
"Girls loves you also. Perhaps you want a girl who already has money," she suggested.
"Right. But now is not the time for all this." he calmly said.
"You can think of me. I'm also rich and we've known each other for years. We could be a power couple." she said.
"Don't you forgot what you did back then. I'm sorry but I won't trust you again." he smiled.
"Little did I know, you never refused me. Where is your love gone all these years?" she asked annoyed.
"That love was finished years ago. You are nothing important to me. Just a family friend." he replied.
"I was once until I........." she was interrupted by Aaron.
"Enough! Don't make me regret talking to you." he piqued in anger.
She got frightened and saw the redness in his eyes.
"At least your anger is the same," she said in a low voice.
"And my hate for you is also the same," he replied calmly.
"You haven't made a girlfriend since then it means you're not over me. It is enough to make me happy." she smiled widely.
"Oh, so you want that? Okay. No problem." he blinked his eyes.
"What are you going to do?" she asked unaware.
His secretary walked in saying," Mr King. Your appointment with Angela Collins is being confirmed at your place."
He turned his face towards Megan who was staring him blankly and said, "Well a man has needs. Nora would you take Miss. Carlton out now. I have some important things to do."
Megan clenched her jaw. "Like what? Beating me in this challenge?" asked Megan.
"Oh, Ms Carlton. You've already lost," he smirked.
"This means nothing to me unless you marry someone like a real man," she said frowned.
"It is enough to make me happy." he smiled.
Megan didn't say a word but gave him icy stares which he intentionally ignored using a laptop.
His secretary noticed that he had nothing to say so she said, "This way, Ma'am." and showed her the way.
She angrily stomps her heels on the floor and left from there.
On the way to home, she was thinking about how much he had changed.
"He really is a man of his words. Living a life of a King as he promised. Well, I'll see how long you'll resist me." she murmured smirking.
