E I G H T E E N "X is someone you've spoken to before but I don't think you'd remember him." Robin says as I glance at him confused. It clicked. I found this warehouse place familiar but I don't know why. "What's his name?" I enquire, Robin looks at Fraser who seemed exasperated. "Zeref." Fraser tells me. The name rings in my head- it sounds so familiar, as if I knew that name. I look at the three guys who looked at me intrigued. "Does the name ring a bell?" Cassiel enquires as I shook my head. They frown as they looked at each other, was I meant to know Zeref? "We thought you knew him since--" Fraser was going to finish his sentence but Robin interjected him. "Since you probably heard of his name somehow." Robin mutters before glaring at Fraser. "First of all, why is Zeref using the letter X to send his threatening messages?" "I know right, why not Z?" Fraser laughs as Cassiel glares at him. "He doesn't want to make it obvious who he is, if he used Z then I would've noticed who he was straight away." Robin informs me, it makes much more sense now. "I'm still not agreeing to your stupid idea." I look at them, why would a psychotic person fall in love- he'd probably rather make me fall through a 5ft deep hole. "But how else are we meant to get to him?" Cassiel looks at me, I shook my head. There's no chance I'm going to make a psycho like me. "Robin, he is your brother right?" I look at the brunette haired guy, his jaw slightly clenches. "Just because we're brothers it doesn't mean we speak." He retorts. "Zeref isn't who you really think he is. He isn't a murderer, nor is he someone to hurt a person- so you don't have to be afraid of him hurting you." Fraser looks at me, This was weird. Fraser is once again being mature and serious. "Then why is he sending me these creepy messages?" I ask Fraser, Fraser shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know, you ask him." He tells me. I notice the sarcasm dripping off his tone. Classic Fraser. "It might not be him behind the messages," Cassiel starts. I look at him slightly dazed. He has got to be kidding me. "I mean it could be that girl. Quinn." My blood boils once I hear Quinn's name. The girl couldn't be texting these stupid messages from a cell. Wait. Did Quinn even go to jail? I mean she's eighteen. What if she isn't even in jail? She could be in prison. "She can't be texting me as X, she's locked up in a cell." I say as Cassiel chuckles at my statement, did I say something funny for him to laugh. "You can send different kinds of messages at different times, hence Quinn must've done the same. The messages you are receiving now have been written a long time ago." He says as my jaw drops. You can do that? "Zeref has better things to be doing rather than writing stupid texts." Robin says quietly. "Now I'm confused. You guys are making Zeref seem like a bad person who isn't bad." I say baffled. "We don't know if Zeref is behind all this." Cassiel spoke. No way, they're assuming who X is? "You guys can't be kidding me, you're assuming who X is?" I say astounded. Here I thought they knew who X was, what if Zeref is not X? "We're not assuming, we have evidence X is Zeref." Cassiel groans as I shook my head in disappointment. "What evidence?" Fraser whispers loudly. They didn't have evidence either? How could Robin believe his brother is X. Robin scowls at Fraser. "Shut up." He hisses before looking at me. "We just know that Zeref is X." He tells me, he wasn't really budging his opinion. He truly believes Zeref is X. "And Quinn is working alongside him?" I enquire. It seemed like something Quinn would do, clearly she likes hurting people. "She has to be, how else would Zeref get away with his dirty works." Cassiel says as he leans on the wall behind him. "So Quinn writes the messages and Zeref sends them at certain times." I ask. "Yeah, but nobody really knows why he's doing this- what his motives are and what he's planning." Cassiel responds blankly. "So we need you to hang out with him. I know it would be risky but I doubt Zeref would hurt you since you and him-- I mean he doesn't have anything against you." Robin stammers, what was he going to actually say? "He has something against me, he wants me to find all these five clues and he told Hunter to kill 5 roses who happen to be my relatives also- clearly he has something against me." Fraser widens his eyes at my statement. "But Zeref, he doesn't write the messages- he sends them." Fraser acknowledged. "So it makes sense, Quinn has something against you. Since Quinn writes all the messages." Cassiel explains. It still didn't seem right, Zeref has the choice of sending those messages. "What have I ever done to Quinn? I've never spoken to her ever since I've entered this town." I fumed, Cassiel and Robin shook their heads. They weren't telling me something. "I mean you might've done something to her, I mean she is your cousin and you've probably spoken when you were younger and she probably kept a grudge ever since then." Fraser says out of the blue. I must've done something really bad to her when I was younger for her to be holding such a long grudge. "So Isabelle are you up for it? Making Zeref fall for you?" Cassiel mutters, he still seemed like he didn't want me to even talk to Zeref. "If he tries something, we're always here for you." Fraser beams, he was too cute for this existence. "Fine, I'll do it." I say finally. Robin rolls his eyes as he looks at me, "Took you long enough." He remarks. My phone vibrates, which meant it was another scheduled text Quinn had written a long time ago. Quinn does not write my messages. I do. - X My phone vibrates once more. And if you tell any of them that I write these messages, something bad will happen. - X I gulp as I notice one last message. Just remember I know everything, you better start searching for these clues- time is not on your side. You need to find the fourth clue from Cassiel- you have to break his heart. - Zeref aka X. I place my phone in my pocket. I guess I have to do what he wants, there's no chance I'll be able to destroy X- I mean Zeref without finding out the last two clues. I notice Cassiel leaning on the wall with his earphones plugged into his phone, I felt bad- but I have to do it. Robin can't know though, since Robin doesn't want me hurting Cassiel and involving him in the game after what happened to Valerie. But you got to do what you got to do. Even if it means having to go behind someone's back. __
