Kane The scream ripped through the rink. My blood ran cold. Mason. No doubt. The sound echoed through metal walls and empty corridors before dying into silence. Lena went pale. “Mason!” She moved instantly. Too fast. I caught her arm before she could run. “No.” Her eyes widened. “Are you insane? That was him!” “And running blindly is exactly what whoever brought us here wants.” The speaker crackled overhead again. Soft laughter. Mocking. I looked upward. “Show yourself.” The voice ignored me. “You still do that.” Static buzzed. “Still pretending you can save everyone.” My jaw tightened. That voice. Familiar. Too familiar. But memory felt slippery. Like reaching through fog. Lena pulled free. “My brother is hurt!” “I know.” “Then let go!” Her voice cracked.
