THE LAST FAIRIES

CHAPTER 11: AN UNEXPECTED TEST

Gloria and Gina were sitting at their table, they were eating and laughing at some jokes they were telling each other.

"That year I can't believe Fred would go seduce her boyfriend just to get back at her, so when she found out she got back at Fred by telling her now ex boyfriend that Fred was 2weeks pregnant because he slept with her friend" Gloria said to Gina laughing uncontrollably remembering that year when Fred came into her room with his face flushed red from anger telling Gloria all his crazy b***h of an ex did to him and how his current revenge boyfriend dumped him in front of the whole school, that caused Fred not to go to school for two weeks cause technically everyone in the school knows he is the heartbreaker not the one to get his heart broken,

Gina just smiled at Gloria seeing how she was laughing hysterically, feeling jealous that another person could make her laugh like this.

"So you and Fred have known each other since?" Gina said waiting for an answer from Gloria, hoping she and Fred hadn't date previously, " oh, we've been best buddies since birth. His mother and my father were best friends since highschool so technically when they gave birth to us we have been seeing each other every damn time" Gloria said placing her food into her mouth. After a while of conversing, Gloria and Gina saw two boys heading into the hall laughing,

"Fred, Eli come sit with us" Gloria yelled at them grabbing their attention, Fred came over while Elijah went to go get their food.

"Where is Nelsia, I have noticed that we only meet during class and the special training but other activities we don't meet" Fred said as he sat down on the bench opposite the two girls " oh she has to finish some work for Miss Niagal this morning and she said she will be in the library after that, but I think she is actually trying to visit her boyfriend" Gina said in a whispering voice leaning closer towards Fred, he just stared at her and scoffed ignoring her answer.

"So what are you guys talking about?" Elijah said placing the food down on the table and sitting next to Fred, "we were just talking about Nelsia that all, she has been absent for the past 3 days now!" Fred was eating while talking making the soup he was drinking to slide down the corner of his mouth, Elijah noticed this and brought out his handkerchief and used it to wipe the liquid off. This action earned a glare from Gloria and a scoff from Gina,

"Hmm, you've caught another fish in your trap it seems and this time you went for an unknown breed in magic yet again" Gina said looking at the boys in front of her,

"Shut up Gina, I was just wiping his mouth for him nothing more so don't go on assuming things that aren't there" Elijah was eating his food ignoring Gina's comment and Gloria's stare.

The four teenagers procced to leave the hall to their class, walking through the halls that led outside the dormitory building while talking about the training they would have this evening with Mr Nick and the spells he told them to learn when someone ran in their direction.

" Guys there is a meeting after training near the flow of magic river I have news for you guys, I have been studying the book of weird and I found some interesting facts there so meet me there this evening" Nelsia said all that sentence in one breath which earned the questioning faces from the group,

"Wait hold up, you are telling us the reason you don't have time for us anymore is because you have been studying the book" Elijah Said shaking his head,

"Okay guys we will hear what she wants to say later let's just get to class before Miss Niagal gets hold of us" Gloria interrupted the conversation and the group began running to their respective class.

When the group reached the school building they had halt in front of the entrance, then Gloria faced everyone "we will all meet in magic class and Fred don't make an attempt to try and ditch it. Wherever you run to I will find you and I mean it" Gloria said looking at Fred with her face expressing threat,

"Well it's easy for you to say it when your spells are getting better and mine is just all glitches here and there" Fred said also looking at Gloria not planning to back down, "ok guys that's enough and Gloria don't worry I will drag him there myself so he will have no excuse in the future", "hmm, okay" Gloria said leaving with Gina and Nelsia to have their first period leaving only Elijah and Fred walking behind them slowly.

Gloria only had first period which was English with Gina and Nelsia making the class better for her listening to the teacher ramble all about some literature lessons, when the time was up she had to go through two more periods before she sees her friends again.

When it was finally third period Gloria was very happy because of mainly two things:

Her seeing her friends and the class being magic class,

So when she entered the class she had seen her friends sitting at the Conner of the class so she strode to the seat and sat with Gina, they were sitting behind Elijah and Fred and seat beside them was Nelsia's, they were talking about random things about magic when Mr Helmond entered the room and walked to middle of the class he dropped his book and turned to the class,

" Hello guys as you all that this is the fourth month that you guys have been learning magic there will be a test to challenge your assimilation level so guys pick up your wand our class is at the garden today" Mr Helmond said walking out of the class towards the garden outside the school.

"Okay guys, settle down settle down first start by splitting yourself in a group of five, your group of five will be your team whenever we have test like this so chose wisely" Mr Helmond said his eyes moving left and right through the crowd trying to pass a message of 'am serious'

"And before I forget this test makes up 20% of your magical record this semester so use your best skills, so you guys good luck with your team" Mr Helmond yelled to the students in front of him.

"Okay so guys why do I have the feeling that this evaluation is not going to go as planned for me?" Fred said once the team came together, "maybe because your are a bimbo who uses all their good look for flirting and not their brain for something useful" Gloria watched how Gina and Fred played the abusive game just smiling to herself cause she knows what kind of trouble Gina brought upon herself,

"At least I have good looks and people are dying for that but am lucky that I don't have a blonde Brain that has no usefulness for me and no beauty attached!" Fred said his eyes throwing daggers in Gina's direction, after the duo threw some insult here and there Gloria was finally satisfied so she intervened,

"Guys calm down we need team spirit to achieve this goal, you know what I mean. Let's stop fighting it's making me feel sad" Gloria said putting on a sad face, but she felt her forehead sting, "ouch Frederick what was that for?"

"That is for lying you pathetic b***h, I know you were happy with the show we were putting on, drama is your middle name" and with that said he walked over to Elijah and Nelsia who didn't even react to the scene in front of them like it doesn't concern them.

"Okay class the rule of the test is simple, am creating a virtual world here right now, there is a hidden treasure there that you must obtain before someone else gets it, the last group that doesn't get the treasure will have to face the consequences and don't forget that team will be struck down by 20%" when Mr Helmond delivered that speech and raised his wands into the air causing all the green scenery that was around them warped and turned into a red and black background.

Time had gone by and the group of teenagers has been walking in this dimension, after a while Fred who couldn't take it anymore was the first to voice out" guys let's rest am tired and my feet is killing me, I just had a pedicure so am not gonna ruin it all for this stimulation",

The rest of the group just avoided him knowing he means no good than to cause trouble, they continued walking after taking some rest along their journey, then they begin to notice the once red sky starting to show a hint of orange in it and lightening began striking this caught the group's attention distracting them from the force that is about to reckon with them.

"Huh guys I think we need to bring our wands out there is a figure coming directly at us" Nelsia Said to the group making each of them turn in the direction where Nelsia was facing.

"Okay guys now it's time to put our knowledge to practice, guys formation ATK SQUAD" Gloria yelled to the group all of them taking their wand out and forming a square with Gloria inside the square.

"Elijah use the astral contact mechanism to get a closer look at the monster we are dealing with and Gina once we know it use the direction contact mechanism to deal with it" Elijah and Gina got to work, Elijah casted his spell his mind leaving his body to go on the mission.

Elijah's mind got closer to the monsters that were coming towards them all their bodies burned, their skin sagging and their teeth sharp and black, their eye socket empty of any eyes but they have a eye on their forehead after Elijah got the information he returned back to his team, gasping he told them all he saw and what they look like,

"Anyone has an idea of what they are" Gloria said trying to shake the fear away from her cause the creatures are getting near " they are the doomed ones, one strike from their claws and teeth your powers will be paralyzed and the only way to defeat them is to gouge their eyes out and thy are dead but they are fast so it's impossible to get near them" Nelsia said to Gloria making Gloria happy for once she has someone smart on the team.

"Okay guys here is what we will do after Gina slows them down, we switch to formation MX4 and we will create a spell that can freeze them for a long time since normal spells don't work on them we will use the weird artifacts magic to create that effect, okay let's go" Gloria said to the team.

Gina stepped out and cast her spell:

From the defense mechanism power,

I cast you direct contact power,

Cive me the power to take action against my enemies,

When she altered those words a straight beam of light came out her wand hitting the monsters in front of them making them move slow prior to their previous movement giving the group the time to execute their next plan, then the group came together forming a circle and started chanting in the weird language, each of them raising their wands to the center of the circle making a ball of icy blue light to form in their middle then Gloria and Elijah took the moment and directed the spell to the monsters making them stop their movement finally.

"Let's do this quick and gouge their eyes out before the spell m. wears out" Gina said running towards the monsters and the rest behind her, getting. to the monsters they used their wands as a device to remove their eyes making the monsters turn to ash after they had removed their eyes, after they were done they saw a green blue light falling from the sky landing not far from them, Gloria walked over to it and picked up the shinning box opening it it consist of five pearls with different runes on them.

"Guys it seems we are going home" Gloria said to the group throwing one pearl to each of them, and with that they left that virtual world.
