THE LAST FAIRIES

CHAPTER 14: THE WORLD OF DIEM

Sitting on his throne he was admiring the staff his warriors got for him on their last battle.

"Thanks to my skillful warriors, I am finally able to obtain one of the three artifacts, not long from now I will get the remaining two and I will get the wish I have so ever desired. Meldion, Stranus and Erractus you guys get ready you will be on a mission for me to obtain a mystery key in the other world of..........".

Silus was giving his speech when one of his underling came running into the room with his black robe flapping behind him, when he reached his master's presence he bowed while talking,

"Master the prisoners you captured from earth whom you said holds the knowledge to where the infinite door is, they escaped and they managed to get wands from some of our guards and they left them unconscious",

The servant was awaiting his master's response when he suddenly hear a thunderous shout with orders from his master" I can't let them go, find them, they are the last living witnesses we can't loose them yet" everyone left the room except the three demons whose mission is in another world.

You could hear the footsteps in the forest accompanied by the heavy breathing with the dry leaves crunching beneath their soles and the dark Aura that surrounds the forest.

Gerald and Berlinda had been running for quite a while now, after their plan worked and the managed to get wands from the guards they knocked out and use a teleportation spell to get out of the castle they were in, but now they noticed that some people are following them and they are getting weak from the teleportation spell they used earlier so they came to a halt.

Not quite long the underlings caught up with them and surrounded them, "You guys are not escaping today, our master Silus is eager to have you back and your department have caused a lot of hypertensive emotions in our castle, so please drop your wands and come back with us" the leader of the order told Gerald and Berlinda but the couple wasn't ready to give up now, with one glance at each other the couple cast a spell of teleportation this time thinking about the building and a white shining light, informing the order of their department.

"Ah, wait guys I haven't got my nails filed yet, you know I have to look great for the royals of diem. I can't let them judge me by my looks" Fred was ranting all around the garden.

"Nah, you aren't going nowhere, you delayed us for over 50 minutes now and now your nails, what are even the purpose of you powers" Nelsia said dragging Fred by his wrist back to the group who were waiting for him all dressed in their runic cloaks and dresses. Getting to the group Fred ran to Elijah and pecked him on his lips not caring that Gloria was there literally staring at the boys especially Elijah deadly.

"Okay guys when you get to diem tell the king you are from me, that I sent you to help with the phenomenal changes happening around the palace and under no circumstances should anyone, I mean anyone know who you guys are, nevertheless should they know you poses the power of the ancient ones. Okay good luck and write to me when you arrive there" Mr Nick said to the group and cast a portal in front of the group, the portal mirroring the world of diem and one by one they stepped in the portal.

After stepping into the portal the five people landed on a green grass beside them is a water fall that glisten with the help of the sunlight, staring into the river the waterfall connects to they could see how deep it is with different underwater species moving all around in the river.

"Is it possible for a water body connected to a waterfall be this deep and harbour living marine species?" Fred who was staring at his new appearance in the river was asking the group who were checking the map to reach the palace.

"There are some that are like that but I have no Idea if any posses the ability to harbour life" Nelsia said coming near to the river flowing, standing beside Fred who was still staring at the water body in awe, taking his hands closer to the flowing current like it was whispering his name, like it was telling him he belongs to the depth of that water.

Getting near she touched Fred's shoulder snapping him out of his trance, "let's focus on our mission first, then later we can explore the mysteries of this world" Nelsia said to Fred and dragged him with her to the group, but unknowingly to them an essence of magic trailed behind Fred from where he stood beside the way water.

"Guys let's get going, by the looks of things following this map we should reach the palace in three hours time and we just sitting here isn't helping" while Gloria was announcing it to the group Nelsia had dragged Fred to the group.

The group began walking in the direction the map gave them, going through the forest and passing through a lookalike dessert they finally reached the entrance to the city of Diem, upon stepping into the city they were all amazed by the designs that made the whole city.

Amazing craft works, old buildings, amazing wooden and stone figures erected in the city, "these buildings are all historical figures that dates back to 100years After Magic, it is said that the world of diem is the oldest amongst the other worlds hence it holds all of the finest artistic works" Nelsia was talking as the group were walking while Fred interrupted her speech,

"Argh, we get it, when it comes to knowledge we give you the award no need to rub your nerdiness on us. Thinking about this makes me want to have my nails done, yes I do remember I haven't gotten my nails done yet" Fred stood looking at his nails that were still clean and the edges smooth, when he decided to deliver another speech he found out that the group had abandoned him and have walked far.

Running to the group he smacked Elijah's arm earning a look from Elijah " if everyone ignore me, you I mean you aren't allowed to. You have to listen to me talk about my beauty, my routine, my....." Fred wanted to say another word when a chilling breeze hit the group,

"Did you guys feel that?" Gloria asked the group but each one of them said they felt nothing but Gloria knew that something was wrong, or she would have simply said that she felt someone behind that chilling breeze but decided to ignore the hunch.

Stepping into the main city everyone's attention was on them, people who were passing by and those who were trading were all looking at their dressing, that was when the group noticed that in all the people in the city they were the only one whose clothings were different, their white robe stained with dirt at the tip from all the walk they had earlier and their inner clothings soaked with sweat.

Gloria taking the initiative walked towards a man nearby who was a trader advertising his goods, getting to him she tried getting information out of the man "Hello good sir, my name is Gloria and I need your help getting to the royal palace and we need to get there now for an important meeting" Gloria was trying to get the man to talk but the man was staring at her like she dropped from another planet.

"You said you looking for king Herondale's palace ehn, take this route down to the confluence, after crossing his palace you would see. But beware of the monster of the confluence cause he devours and leaves nothing of you" the man told Gloria making Gloria think that something must be wrong with this man's speech.

"Thank you good sir, but if I may ask you a question, what is the phenomenal changes happening around the city lately? Magic outbreak or curse activation?", The man looked at Gloria and the people behind her staring at him with questioning looks " I think the city's magic is fading or that is what the king wants us to believe, creatures that aren't from our universe or from our time keep appearing and killing the people and our powers don't work on them. I have said enough for I am scared of who or what might hear me" the man said and left the group.

Gloria turning to the group, they all had the same look on their face speaking that this was time manipulation going on but they can't be sure yet, "Hey why are you guys looking at each other like that, is there a new magic spell I don't know" maybe not all the group understood the assignment, Fred was left out because of his inability to concentrate.

"Nelsia get all the creatures that exists both in this dimension, world and earth we will need information to defeat any monsters that come our way" Gloria said to Nelsia who began the spell on her book "and the rest of you be prepared to fight, and Fred for once don't make me worry about you",

When Gloria said that the group began walking in the direction the man gave them, the group of five people were walking side by side under the sunset sky while talking about the creatures that have been appearing and why they are haunting this world, after walking for what seems like an eternity to Fred the reached a forest so they decided to rest a little bit before they continue their journey.

When they settled in the forest while drinking and eating, Gloria felt a pair of eyes looking at her when she turned her head in the direction she suspected the eyes were from she met no one there but she couldn't stop the feeling that someone is watching them, after resting for some while the group began their journey once more but this this the sky was blanketed in darkness so they had to rely on Fred's moonlight glow powers.

Getting to the river, they could see many rivers coming together to form the confluence but they saw no means of passage so they decided to fly over it. "Guys careful, don't forget the man earlier told us about the sea monster so be quiet we don't want to wake it up" Gina said while staring at Elijah and Fred"what why you staring at us we haven't done anything wrong" Elijah said defending himself and his boyfriend.

"Okay guys let's go"and in harmony they all chanted "ìk rekson Leviticus" each one of them flying in the sky then they began their journey crossing the river, each one of them carefully Crossing the river so as not to wake the monster,that was working untill a coin slipped from Fred's pouch and fell into the river, then suddenly something happened beneath them,

"Guys, I think something is happening, I think the creature notices our presence above the river" Fred said to the group making everyone look at the rumbling water bed beneath them.

"You guys get your wands ready and Fred be prepared to transform" when Gloria finished that sentence a creature shot out of the water with it's mouth wide open directed at the groups way, all of them escaping the attack Gloria cast a freezing spell making some part of the rivers freeze.

The group landed on Gloria's spell but the monster was still trying to attack them, the second time the monster struck again they got a clear view of what they were fighting. A serpent like body that goes up to 12feet and a huge clenching jaw with it's body full of scales,

"Nelsia now we need your help to deal with this monster, get us info real quick and Fred still save your powers until we know how to defeat it", the monster jaw struck the ice it didn't break but it left a huge dent there making the monster more furious,

Gloria cast the binding spell on the monster but it didn't hold it down neither did Elijah attacking spell worked on it, when the monster wanted to strike the third time Gloria, Gina and Elijah baited themselves to distract the monster from attacking Nelsia and Fred.

"Guys I've gotten it, it is a mythical creature from earth called the Cetus. It was believed to have existed during the ancient Greek time when magical essence still flowed on earth, it was defeated by turning into stone" Nelsia said to her friends that were fighting the monster while flying in the air "well that is now a problem we have, none of our spell is working on it then how do we turn it to stone" Elijah said shielding himself from the monster's bite,

"Leave that to me" everyone was looking at Fred who had been silent for some unknown reason, "moon god transformation" Fred yelled then a beam of light fell from the sky lifting him up to the sky and the rivers that meet at the confluence flowing rapidly making the river rise then his clothes disappearing but his body still wrapped in the bright beam then his hair became the pure silver color once more and became longer with a head piece at both sides of his hair, his jaw became sharper, his nails longer and his skin more pale. Then an array made from water suddenly appeared beneath him and passed through him clothing him in water, when the array passes through him the second time dropping below he was clothed in long royal blue pants and half white half royal blue long sleeve shirt with his pants having designs if the moon and water covering the ankle and final touch was a white cloak that has a huge crescent moon design drawn at the back with royal blue covering his face from the eyes.

The beam then left and something shinning landed on his hand and Fred landed on the water that was still flowing violently,

"Cetus, it's you and me now leave my friends alone" Fred said in a loud voice catching the attention of the sea serpent, then it directed it attacks towards Fred, it took it's long neck and rigid jaw and threw it in Fred's direction but Fred took his staff and controlled the water to form a shield around him, when he was certain he was safe he took the chance to cast his spell "lunar illusion" he said his eyes glowing staring into the eyes of the serpent making it to stay still before it collapsed in the water,

"Guys now it's your turn to send it back to where it came from" Fred said not breaking his eye contact with the monster, in harmony the group casted a restoration spell to restore balance to the world.

The monster disappeared and the water returned to normal, the group flew across the river and landed on the dry floor, upon landing everyone crowded Fred to get a closer look at him.

"You look like a assassin with the looks your clothes gives, but don't worry next time we won't be so intimidated" Gina said to Fred making him glare at her,

"Your staff, your staff seems like it was crafted from crystal itself, let's see" Fred took his staff out and held it out for his friends to look at it. It was structured by crystals that glow in the dark and on the staff is where a crescent moon lies with a small orb In it's middle and it goes high as 3feet.

"I guess you already unlocked your powers what remains for you is to learn what hidden powers you have now" Nelsia said to Fred "Stop transformation" all of his previous clothings came back to him and his transformed clothes left him.

It was ready getting to midnight but the group began walking in the direction of the palace exhausted from their previous battle with the monster. After several minutes of walking they finally ended up in front of the palace.
