THE LAST FAIRIES

CHAPTER 9: ASKING HER OUT

The five teenagers left the room looking confused and with the feeling of not knowing what to do, after walking for a while they all dispersed to their various rooms, Elijah and Frederick going in the same direction.

After Gloria reached her room she couldn't stop thinking about her parents and why they hid the fact that she was a magician and at the same time worrying about their wellbeing, she fell asleep wishing Fredrick was there to tell her it was okay.

Fredrick and Elijah reached Elijah's room and they both stepped in "make yourself comfortable, your room still needs to be cleaned, they couldn't tend to it today because if the abnormalities today so tomorrow you would move in, for tonight sleep here. And oh if leaving tomorrow your clothes are in my closet take them with you" Elijah said while tying his hair into a bun.

Climbing into the bed Elijah switched off the lights and pulled off his clothes leaving only his shorts from this morning "if you're feeling sleepy come into the cover we will both share the bed tonight" Elijah said to Fredrick closing his eyes,

Fredrick not knowing what to do cause when he sleeps he tends to hug everything in his path, stood there thinking of what he should do, after contemplating for a while he took off his shirt leaving his white tee-shirt on and climbed into the bed placing a pillow in the middle, starring at Elijah for a while he finally gave in to the darkness calling out to him.

The next morning, Fredrick felt the pillow he was hugging seems to have a steady rise and fall pattern and a rhythmic sound beats, not sure what was happening he decided to open his eyes to meet another pair of eyes looking at him, afraid and surprised he shifted back and fell off the bed,

"Good morning Fred, I saw you were sleeping soundly so I didn't want to disturb you but we need to hurry now, our training session with Mr Nick will soon start" that's when Fred remembered the ordeal yesterday evening, both rushing they stood up and went to the closet to pick out their clothes, when it was time to bath Elijah turned to Fred asking,

"Do you want to take a shower together, It will be fast so we can reach the combat ground faster"

Fredrick who has not recovered from the last minute embarrassment he faced while hugging Elijah blushed harder, he slipped passed him and went into the bathroom after entering he tried to calm his racing heartbeat.

After both boys had their bath and dressing up, they both left for the dinning hall where they met the rest of the group.

"Hi guys, how are you guys doing" Gloria said to the duo coming to the table, "It was good untill a certain person thought I was a teddy bear" Fredrick slapped Elijah's arm glaring at him,

"At least I wasn't the one who slept like a log, unmoving trying not to wake the other" Fredrick and Elijah were still bickering when Gina came to their table sitting beside Gloria,

"Here I bought this for you, I found out that you like head pieces, so I got this fox hair clip for you" Gina gave her the bag in her hand, Gloria still surprised from the well crafted hair clip she got, she accepted the bag and hugged her making everyone at the table stare at their direction, which made Fredrick clear his voice and winking at Gloria, she knowing the situation finally left the hug and finishing her breakfast.

After finishing up their breakfast, the five teenagers left for the combat ground while joking, laughing and teasing each other on the way.

"Today is the first training session with you guys, let's begin with the basics. And Mr Fred here is your wand for the main time you will need it to cast spells" Mr Nick told them when they settled on the ground, "okay let's begin", Miss Niagal stepped out,

"On this floor no joke is allowed all that is allowed is concentration and improvement, bring your wands out" they all did as they were told each of their wand emitting different colors making a hue in the combat ground,

"Each of you cast the whirlwind spell, but direct it at those magic puppet" each one of them began casting the spells towards the puppets but out of the batch only two spells failed to reach the puppets, miss Niagal noticing this told the duo to try again,

They tried it multiple times but all was to no avail, after they kept trying and trying and they couldn't make it the principal decided to intervene in the matter, "okay the rest of you can leave and go prepare for your classes, Gloria and Fred you two stay we need to discuss your power unsteadiness" the group left leaving only Gloria and Fred with the principal and secretary.

"You guys is there something bothering you that you think you could tell us, we need you guys powers to complete the spell, you guys are essential part of this mission, so get yourself together and let's defeat Silus" they both stared at each other before staring back at the principal,

"We are sorry, we will do better next time. We just need time to wrap our heads and feelings into this mission" Gloria spoke on their behalf and they both proceed to leave the ground when the principal uttered another word,

"Next tomorrow is the full moon, Fred be ready to claim your powers your group will aid you to complete that transfer so start preparing" then let them leave.

When Gloria and Fred stepped out of the combat ground, they both went to their class going through the day as if nothing had happened. When the last period went by the five teenagers met in front of the west building and they started walking to the flow of magic river where they have their meetings, upon getting there they could see the sunlight shinning on the river and the river emitting a rainbow light towards the sky and the magical creatures swimming in the waters and the ones on land running on spotting the arriving humans.

Each one of them sat down on the grass forming a circle and placing the book that contains the information about the weird magicians,

"So we all know what we are, but we don't know what powers we posses and our origin so let's begin" Nelsia said to the group "why don't we take a break this evening to rest, tomorrow we continue the mission " Gloria said while she slept on the grass, when everyone accepted the idea Nelsia also gave in and slept on the grass.

After a while of chatting and laughing at each other jokes Nelsia stood up and said to the group "I have to go now, I have a date with my boyfriend bye!" She half walked half ran through the cobblestone pathway that led to the school, not long after Elijah and Fred also left only leaving Gloria and Gina on the grass staring at the rainbow from the river.

"Have you ever had a partner before?" Gina asked Gloria while they were staring at the rainbow,

"Nah, I have never had the time to look for one or notice one. What about you?" "Nah, all my time are spent shopping, saving mundanes and studying so I have never had a partner also. But I think someone is starting to make my heart race" when Gina said that she turned her head to look at Gloria, "and I think the person is unaware of the feelings they make me feel",

Gloria turned her head also and replied to Gina's sentence" then tell the person that you like them before it's too late, ask the person out before another ask them out" when that sentence left Gloria's mouth, Gina came near and kissed Gloria. Gloria was surprised and didn't move when Gina was kissing her, she didn't react to it neither did she push Gina away so it gave Gina confidence to do what she had wanted to do for the past 1 week, Gina broke the kiss and stood up walking towards the river she brought out her wand and cast a spell pointing it at the river,

The water in the river rose and formed the word' Gloria I like you would you go out with me' then she turned to the figure that is still sleeping on the grass with surprise etched on her face, then she stood up staring at the words before turning to Gina,

"Am not sure about this cause I have never liked anyone, but you may win my heart one day but for now I still don't know if I like you" when Gloria said those words Gina came closer and held her hands "don't worry let's start with this date, am sure we can go from there" she said and pecked her cheek. And both sat in the grass for some while talking about nothing and everything till they both went to their dorms.
