THE LAST FAIRIES

CHAPTER 3: LEARNING MAGIC

They opened their eyes to a dark environment and a feeling of nausea, the space was only lit by a torch and some figures in the further part of the cave having a discussion. Trying not to give their self away, they stay calm so as not to rattle the chains they were bound to " Lord Silus awaits our return with the magic in hand and we have non to gift him with. So you guys stop playing around and try to get some information out of those two idiots" with that said the man talking turned his face in the direction of Gerald and Berlinda.

I woke up to the blaring alarm right beside me, after what seems like eternity to me I finally found the clock and switched it off without even getting out of bed I was already exhausted. After a minute of tug of war with my quilt I finally got up to go take a shower. After taking a shower and brushing my teeth, I stood in front of the closet and try to pick out some clothes today, after a while I settled with a white crop shirt and a black mini skirt with a white shoes after looking at my appearance and pleased with it I heard the knock on the door.

Opening the door I met Gina on the other side with her blond hair in a stylish way and her body covered with a long cashmere gown. "Hey Gina, how are you doing today?" " Fine Gloria, am feeling good. Let's start going or else we would miss breakfast "okay gimme a minute" I ran back into the room and took my bag with the box that my parents gave me inside the bag, walking out the door I closed it and faced Gina "let's Go, shall we?" We began walking down the hall.

"So Gina, that necklace around your neck where did you get it from. Those runes on it I have seen it before but not sure where" I asked Gina while we were walking down the hall " the necklace is not an accessory but rather an artifact. It is meant for the weird magician that is those of us that our powers are not stable and cannot cast spells right. If you have seen it before then you too are a weird magician" then I remember where I saw it instantly the ring inside the box my parents gave me has those runes " oh now I remember, the ring inside this box has the same runes and it was even shinning brightly. Are we the only ones with that unstable power", "Nah, there are still two people in spellbound academy who uses that power".

We walked in through the double green glass door into a more larger and luxurious hall, "welcome to the dinning hall also known as the conference hall" she lead me to a table not far from where we stood" here will be our table, and oh less I forget rules in spellbound academy is don't be weak or you are dead" Gina told me a took a plate for herself and treated herself to the meals laid on the table.:After finishing the meal, Gina and I stood up but when trying to leave someone hit me and I fell " sorry, sorry I'm really sorry I was rushing to get breakfast before class so I didn't see where I was going" the boy stretched out his hands to help standing up I saw the boy, it was the same boy those men of the order of darkness were beating the other day.

"Ei, aren't you that boy those people were beating the other day, how did you escape?" Gina interrupted the conversation" Gloria how did you know Elijah?" "I met him on earth, he was attacked by the order of darkness the same people that attacked me and my parents resulting in my being here". "Oh now I know, Gloria meet Elijah a weird one like us and he is a friend of mine" I noticed he has a dragon tattoo drawn on his right arm, he seems tall around 6 feet I think and his white hair flowing to his shoulder packed neatly into a ponytail and on his wrist sit a bracelet with the same runes as the one on our artifact " Hi, am Elijah fist year and nice to meet you" his silver eyes stared at me and I blushed taking his hand to shake it, "Okay with the introduction done, Elijah get breakfast we will wait for you, that is if it is okay with Gloria?" Snapping out of my daydreaming, I stuttered" yeah yes no problem I have some questions to ask him too" we sat by a table talking while waiting for Elijah to finish up his meal. "So how will I get access to my ring. Or don't I need it?" " You need to cast your first spell to determine if your magic is stable or not. Do you have your wand?" Gina asked me, looking amazed I asked " Do we need wands to cast spells, how can I get one" "simple will get one on your first magic class" I heard a voice behind me, turning back I saw Elijah standing there.

Three of us walked out of the dinning hall with my hands carrying the box, "so Elijah what do the order of darkness want from you" I looked at him chewing his cheek before answering me"what they want from all of us in this realm. Fairy magic" intrigued I simply asked what was confusing in that statement"but I thought we were magicians, how could we posses the powers of fairies?" Gina answered my question this time around" legend has it that the power of fairies are like healing antidote, so who ever posses it becomes powerful, so hence few people can only obtain that power" " so that's why they were after Elijah, since they can't come into the academy they decided to ambush him on earth". Stepping into the west building went into our first session of the day which was magic class, stepping into the class all desk were having a book lying on them and one of the desk has a book with a stick next to it lying on the table " I guess that will be your table Milady" Elijah whispered into My ear making me jolt out of my thoughts.

After settling down a man no more than in his early 40's came in holding a book under his armpit and a furry red stick in his hand which she assumed was his wand "Alright class settle down we have a new student here among us today, would you please introduce yourself?" Standing up I saw all eyes were on me " my name is Gloria and am from earth, first year in the academy" I sat down trying to shake off the stares that were directed my way. "Ok class, we will continue from where we stopped last time and oh Gloria after class meet Me to activate your wand so as to start using it to cast spells" "okay, Mr........." " Mr. Helmond" "Yes, Mr. Helmond". "Okay class open to page 1053 of the spell book, we will be talking about activation of defense mechanism. Can anyone state it, the type of defense mechanism there are?" "Direct contact, astral contact and dark art contact" "Yes Nelsia, correct but do you know that with those you have mentioned there is a a fourth one called the unstable art of defense mechanism, this mechanism helps in time of danger when the brain goes into panic mode and you don't know what to do" as Mr. Helmond was dictating I was writing my own notes so as not to miss the important details, then I heard the bell ring "alright class your assignment today will be in a group of four, each of you guys will perform each of the mechanism on the combat ground next time" "Gloria wait after class to activate your wand, the rest of you out the door" everyone was packing their bag but I remain seated, Elijah and Gina walking up to me"see you later and girl you got this. Bye" "okay guys bye" and with that they left me to Mr. Helmond.

Ék noméldo devistiantè mergistus" I reapeated after him and I felt the stick in my hand starting to shake and a faint light emitting from it until it became a bright light, we closed our eyes after a while the light disappeared in my hand was a silver stick and 14 inches long wand with some runes circling it like vines "well done Gloria, you are officially a magician, you may go now" I left the class to go to my other classes but through the remaining periods I couldn't think straight cause I feel like something is calling me making me feel uneasy.
