book II: war chapter 1; a teen teacher

Scene 1

Location: the southern portal 

Katsumi: welcome, avatar *lifts her hand*

*Yin is a bit shocked by how many people are present. He didn't expect anyone to be there except for one or two people*

Yin: h, hi 

*they shake hands*

Katsumi: it is the northern tribe's honor to have the avatar stay with them to master waterbending 

Yin: thank you. I'm honored that you accepted to train me and count me as one of you 

Katsumi: *to everyone* (raised her voice) because of the avatar's arrival there will be a big welcoming party tonight.

*everyone starts screaming and cheering*

Yin: thank you but that's not really necessa..

Kataumi: that's our tradition. Accepting it is a sign of respect to our tribe

Yin: oh I'm sorry I didnt mean to sound disrespectful 

Katsumi: it's ok, you're still new here. You have a room in the palace set up for you, our guards will show it to you. Get ready and come to the dining hall at 11, I will introduce you to everyone you need to know and to Hiroku, the best waterbender alive at the moment and your waterbending teacher 

Yin: I'm excited to meet him 

Katsumi: he's excited as well 

Scene 2

Scene 2-1

Location: In front of the palace 

Royal guard: this is where you will be staying avatar

Yin: it looks so cool

Scene 2-2

Location: in front of Yin's room in the palace

Royal guard: and this is your room

Yin: and where will Yang be?

Royal guard: I'm sorry sir who is Yang?

Yin: the badgermole. Since I'm Yin I decided to name him Yang so that together we could be Yin and Yang 

Royal guard: there's an abandoned building next to the castle, your badgermole will be stating there 

Y

in: and one more thing please

Royal guard: yes sir

Yin: put a saddle next to him so that I install it whenever I need him

Royal guard: ok sir everyone is expecting you at the hall at 11 and there are clothes inside that Katsumi wants you to wear. Have a nice night *bows*

*Yin bows back. The guard goes and Yin enters the room*

Yin: well I expected everything to be ice *sits on the bed* guess it was just the exterior *lays on the bed* I wonder what avatar korra wrote for me *opens his bag and starts reading what everyone wrote for him* 

Scene 3

Location: the dining hall 

Scene 3-1

*Yin gets down from the stairs and see everyone in there. A guy comes up to him*

Juroh (the guy): avatar, hi 

Yin: hello 

*they shake hands*

Juroh: I'm juroh, katsumi's husband. Nice to meet you

Yin: the pleasure is mine

Juroh: sorry for not being there when you came, I was busy with something 

Yin: it's ok. Don't worry about it 

Juroh: come with me to meet your waterbending teacher. He's excited to see you

Yin: I'm excited as well 

Scene 3-2

*They arrive next to a a guy in his late teens/ early 20s*

Jurou: Yin, this is Hiroku. (To hiroku) Hiroku, the avatar

Hiroku: hi Yin, nice to meet you

*Yin is surprised because he's a teen*

Yin: (in his head) not trying to be rude, but you look 19, how can you be the best waterbender alive *notices his hand is still up so he shakes it* I'm sorry I, didn't..

Hiroku: it's ok. I understand your concerns?

Yin: yeah, h-how? How old are you?

Hiroku: 18, and a half 

Yin: I'm sorry but I still dont believe that you're the best waterbender alive. You're a teenager 

Hiroku: oh really?

Yin: Zei almost killed me if it wasn't for Nova. I won't believe that you are stronger than Zei 

Hiroku: wow I thought the avatar has wisdom but apparently he bases his judgment on people's ages

Yin: I dont base my judgments on age (raises his tone of voice) things just don't make sense

Hiroku: (raises his voice as well)How about a waterbending fight. Let's see who's going to win 

Juroh: Hiroku that's really unnecessary..

Hiroku: (screaming) no, tomorrow morning. We'll see what you have avatar

Yin: (screaming as well) fine! Be ready to lose 

Hiroku: *smiles* (calmly) we'll see about that *goes*

Juroh: dont mind him he has some anger issues, people judging his abilities based on his eyes is something that happens often which is why he became irritated whenever that happens 

Yin: I'm sorry I just can't understand how

Juroh: I understand, no one does until they see it with their own eyes. Now you need to eat, go choose from that table whatever you want 

*Yin goes* 

Juroh: I need to go now, see you later, goodbye 

Scene 4

Location: next to the ocean

*Hiroku is sitting on ice seemingly upset playing with water. A big head shows from the water*

Hiroku: hi buddy *bends water I to the exact form of his hand and pets the big fish with his water hand. The fish makes a noise*

Hiroku: the avatar doesnt believe that I'm a water bending master. It's a little bit annoying

*the fish makes noise*

Hiroku: yeah you're right, he will probably change his mind. Wanna play

*it makes excitement noises* 

Hiroku: ok 

*bends a water circle a bit farther and raises it in the air, the fish jumps thought it*

Hiroku: good job *jumps in the water and starts swimming inside his swimming was so smooth, he was just like a fish*

Scene 5

Location: in front of the castle

*the place is crowded with people, entertainers, sellers and others. Katsumi gets out of the castle*

Katsumi: (screaming) Silence!

*everybody becomes quiet*

Kataumi: the avatar is an honored guest in here and that means that any disrespect toward him will be dealt with severely 

*Yin panics a bit because he doesn't want to feel like he's superior in any way but he can do nothing about it*

Katsumi: enjoy the party 

Scene 6

Scene 6-1

Location: Yin's room

Time: early morning 

*the doors opens violently*

Hiroku: wake up 

*from surprise Yin screams a bit*

Yin: what's wrong?

Hiroku: we agreed to fight, did you forget about that?

Yin: it's still too early

Hiroku: stop complaining like a little kid 

*Hiroku water ends at his face to make him wake up*

Hiroku: wake up 

Yin: (screaming) fine, you're going to regret this 

Hiroku: *smiles* we'll see about that 

Scene 6-2

Location: next to the ocean 

Yin: we're fighting here?

Hiroku: it has water and ice, what do you think?

Yin: ok. Let's start

Hiroku: and one more thing, you're only allowed to use waterbending

Yin: what? Why?

Hiroku: I'm testing your waterbending skills not your avatar skills

Yin: you seem to be too confident in yourself

Hiroku: I am *waterbends at Yin but he avoided it at the last moment 

Yin avoided it and ended the water back at Hiroku. Hiroku bended it down then started bending a lot of water and waterbenders it at Yin, he spinner it around him and froze it then waterbender the ice and made 4 spikes and bended them toward Yin but stopped them before they can hit him. So now Yin is trapped in mid air with 4 ice spikes directly in front of him*

Hiroku: well look at that avatar, I won

*Yin entered the avatar state, he opened his mouth and fire came out of it melting the spikes, then fire start spinning around the ice that Yin was trapped in and melted all of it setting Yin free. When he got down he firebended a big amount of fire at hiroku, he was able to stop it by bending the ice off of the ground*

Hiroku: (screaming) Yin stop!

*Yin didnt stop so Hiroku bended water out of air next to Yin and slapped his face with it turning him back to reality, after Yin realised what he was doing he got out of the avatar state and seemed upset because of what he did*

Hiroku: (screaming) what's wrong with you? First of all we agreed to only use waterbending and secondly you could've killed me

Yin: (low voice) I'm sorry I can't control myself while in the avatar state 

Hiroku: (screaming) Yin you didn't even stop firebending for a second 

Yin: I'm sorry I didn't mean to..

Hiroku: forget about it, just leave me alone 

Yin: but..

*Hiroki waterbends a wall of ice between both of them not to let him talk. Yin sights and goes*

Scene 7

Location: somewhere in the north pole

*Yin arrived with Yang, he got down and started walking thinking of what he did and what the consequences could've been. He remembered that he did the same thing to Jinora which made him feel even more guilty. But this time was more intense than then. he thought of something, maybe the fire ring is causing mood swings, since he merged with it he noticed that he become a bit more aggressive*

Yin: what do you think Yang? could it be the fire ring?

*Yang growls*

Yin: true. Well I can't get it out of me, I need to learn how to live with it and control myself

Scene 8

Time: night

Scene 8-1

Location: the dining hall

Katsumi: so, how was your waterbending battle 

Hiroku: good

Katsumi: and who won 

Yin: Hiroku did

Katsumi: so now do you believe that he's a good waterbending master 

Yin: I do, I'm excited to start learning from him

Kstsumi: good. I hope your lessons go well 

*Hiroku stares at Yin*

Scene 8-2

Location: the north pole

*Hiroku is walking alone at night while a small snow storm*l. He arrived at a cave on a mountain and entered there. The cave's opening had a view over the deep ocean, the view was fascinating and Hiroku enjoyed it. Suddenly, a head pops up from above*

Yin: hi there

*Hiroki freaks out, backs up and waterbends at him. Yin lifts his head not to let the water hit him then jumps in the cave*

Yin: well that was a close one

Hiroku: *sits down* just like the fire that could've burned me

Yin: hey, I said I'm sorry. It's a long story but let's just say that in this time I can't really control my feelings 

Hiroku: why and how are you here, this cave is my secret place, I come here to run away from people and yet someone still discovers it and who is that person? YOU

Yin: I followed you by feeling the earth's vibrations, it's an earthbending thing. Anyways that's not why I came here

Hiroku: *while he's not looking at him* why do you want?

Yin: *sits down next to him* I wanted to apologize, I'm sorry for what I did earlier 

Hiroku: and?

Yin: and not believing that you're a waterbending master

Hiroku: and?

Yin: that's it 

Hiroku: *gets closer* INVADING MY PRIVACY AND NOT ASKING FIRST 

Yin: *backs up* I forgot about that 

*after a moment of silence*

Yin: so, are we friends now

Hiroku: you can leave 

Yin: is that a yes or a no?

Hiroku: you, can leave

*Yin sights the gets up and airbends himself down. While getting down he gets angry because he wasn't forgiven so he earthbends a big rock and throws it at the mountain, that cause the snow that was on the top to starts going down. Yin just started a snow avalanche. Hiroku was safe at what's almost the top of the mountain but Yin wasn't. Hiroku heard Yin screaming and saw the snow starting to fall so he knew what happened so he got down to go help him*

Scene 8-3

Location: where Yin is at

*Yin knew that he can't get down because of the penguins that were at the bottom of the mountain, if he did nothing they would all become dead. He started bending the snow to stop it but it quickly became heavier than what he can handle and it all started falling down with Yin inside of it*

*Hiroku arrived at the bottom of the mountain, created am ice arc and pushed all of the penguins with it to a safe place then bended all of the snow that was falling and stopped it a bit before it hit the ground, then he backed up and let it fall. Yin got out of the snow and airbended to get all of the snow out of him* 

Yin: *with his head down* thank you

*Hiroku hits him with water. Yin is stunned*

Hiroku: there were no unstable rocks on this mountain, the only thing that could've caused all of this is a big rock moving and why did it move? Because an angry earthbender decided to empty his rage while a snow storm is starting, this is your second mistake avatar, watch out *turns around and starts walking away*
