It wasn’t long before the apartment emptied out. No one said anything to Kelsea about staying with them, so she just stayed put, hoping Jaymes wouldn’t kick her out.
He’d been distant all day, but he found out about Dane, which meant he was looking into her past. She wondered if that meant something.
“How was your day?” he asked when they were alone.
She nodded. “It was okay. Jack was a good bodyguard.”
Jaymes grinned. “He’s a good guy.”
She nodded again, unsure what she should say.
“What do you have going on tomorrow?”
“I have a couple more classes, but Friday is usually an easy day for me.”
