Chapter 12 “Can I come in?” Gloria Reyes didn’t wait for an answer. She never did, but Vin had also never denied her entrance. She placed a thick legal folder on his desk and sat on the corner of his bed. She folded her hands over her knee and waited, saying nothing. “What’s up, Grams?” Vin didn’t look up from his phone, poking at the little Bitizens that worked furiously in his stupid game. “Put that away, Vinyl,” she said, sharply. “Sit up and give me your attention, please.” Vin sighed. He really didn’t want to talk to anyone. He hadn’t wanted to come visit for Thanksgiving either, but decided he wanted to fight about it even less. “Sure.” He slid into a slouched position and turned his phone face down on the coverlet. “I received a letter a week ago,” she said, “that concerns you.
