Ann-Marie climbed into the back of the black SUV with him, buckled her seat belt. “Just drive, James,” she waved a hand at Vin’s driver. David rolled his eyes expressively in the rear view mirror, making sure the expression was visible to the back seat. “Hector invited me to a thing,” Vin said. He gave the address to David. “Something about a hotel and convention. Free beer and an indoor pool. That’s what I know.” “I suppose it’s something,” Ann-Marie said. She turned sideways in the seat, taking Vin’s hand and patting it like it was a semi-feral animal. “So, you need to come to next week’s meeting.” “I don’t—” “Look, I did an informal headcount, and there’s three people who’ve got their name in for prez, although I might be able convince Tamara that she wants to do treasurer next year
