The rest of the week went by normally. I had a few other pack members add their stories to the recording and I got it put together. I also wrote out my plan and made copies for all the council members. I was ready. Keaton was training more and more in his free time. I could tell he was nervous. The council agreed to hear my proposal, but Keaton was worried about the consequences. I was too but I had a good feeling about it. I was strong in my conviction and I could take any punishment they gave me if it meant my family had the possibility of being free. Two days before we left for the council, I went on a run by myself. Keaton was tied up working and I needed to get out some energy. I was lost in the memories of my time as a human, my time without Keaton. The memories had a dull edge to them, but I think it is because my life after Keaton has been so vibrant. I not only had my mate, but I also had these werewolf senses. Even in human form my eyesight, hearing, and smell were 10x greater than when I had been human. I could smell a few of my pack coming near me. It wasn’t unheard of for the pack members to see me running and want to join. I was their Luna after all. Soon four other wolves came up behind me. I nodded to them, giving my ok for them to be here. I loved my pack and running together as wolves was one of the best ways to bond with them. We ran deep into the forest, the same path I took on my first run. When we burst into the clearing with the lake, we all stopped. I went to the lake and drank from its depths. The cool water was refreshing on my tongue. I had more energy but that didn’t stop me from getting hot while running. I shifted back quickly, intent on going for a short swim. I knew the others had shifted while I was drinking. I heard the break of bones and the rustle of clothes. I didn’t stop to think about it, but I should have. Why were they getting dressed? Before I had a chance to dive in the water, I felt hands grip my arms. I struggled against them. “What are you doing. Let your Luna go.” No one said anything then darkness came.
The pain in my head woke me up. What happened? I didn’t open my eyes as I tried to figure it out. My face stayed a mask of sleeping and I tried to breath deep. I should have known it wouldn’t work like that. “I know you’re awake so open your eyes.” A male voice I didn’t know rang out. I opened my eyes and ensured my face read no emotion. I was tied to a chair, now clothed, with silver cuffs around my wrists. The pain I felt wanted me to scream out, but I didn’t. Keaton had trained me in the way a Luna should act. It wasn’t unheard of for a mate of an Alpha to be taken to weaken the pack. Keaton didn’t think anyone would be stupid enough to try it on him, but he took me through the training anyway. The man in front of me radiated power. He was almost as tall as Keaton. He had strawberry blonde hair. I knew he was ripped but I kept my eyes trained on his face. He was handsome but couldn’t hold a candle to Keaton. I stayed silent. Let the capture talk first, reveal his plan, learn what direction to take this in before a move is made on my part. I could tell he was waiting for me to move, yell out, do something. I didn’t give him that pleasure. The silence stretched out until the man in front of me opened his mouth. “You really are meant for Keaton, aren’t you?” I didn’t answer. I would not give this man the dignity of my answering. I could tell I was frustrating him. He ran a hand through his hair and stepped closer to me. “You better say something b***h or you’re gonna get it.” I still kept quiet. I knew when I was taken that this wasn’t going to be some damsel in distress rescuing where I wasn’t going to get very hurt. I was strong though and they won’t break me. The man in front of me lifted his hand and brought it down on my cheek, hard. The slap made my cheek sting, but I didn’t react. I would do Keaton proud for as long as I possible could. He raised his hand again and slapped my other cheek. My inexpressiveness was pissing him off. Anger started to radiate from him. He balled his fists and started to hit me with them. My face, my stomach, anywhere he could land a blow he was. I could feel my control starting to slip. This f*****g hurt. Keaton had made sure that while our training sessions did involve some pain it didn’t involve this degree of pain. As I was hovering over the edge of breaking down and sobbing, he stopped hitting me. I could see the sweat pouring off of him. He stood up “f**k!” He screamed it, causing the door to open and others to join us. The door that opened was at the top of some stairs. I’m in a basement. My eyes were still trained on the leader. “What’s wrong Alpha?” Finally, I was getting some information. I was in another pack. Why would a pack try to incite Keaton like this? He is going to kill them all. The Alpha turned around. “This little b***h isn’t being easy to work with.” He turned back to me. “Ask me what I want.” I didn’t answer. He smirked at me as he approached me. This was going to be bad. He took one of my arms that was tied around the back of the chair. He untied it. I tried to move it, to hit him but he held it still as he smiled. He looked me right in the eye as he bent it, breaking it. He then tied it back around the chair, ensuring maximum pain. Between that and the beating that my body was still feeling I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I gave a short scream before clamping my mouth shut. The Alpha laughed. That scream made the dam break. I couldn’t help the tears rolling down my face. I had to talk to him, he wouldn’t stop at just one arm if I didn’t. “What do you want?” I tried to make my voice sound mean, hard but it came out laced with pain. “I want you to stop this stupid crusade for the humans. Your pack members came to me, telling me about your speech. You won’t get away with this.” I sneered at him. “My pack members will be dealt with, along with your pack. My Alpha and I will destroy you.” He laughed. “Keaton isn’t here though is he. Don’t you wonder why? Surely you don’t believe he agrees with you. He gave you to me until the council meeting is over. You miss it and you’ll never get your chance. He did say he wanted you unharmed but oh well.” I growled at him. No way Keaton would do this. He would talk to me if he didn’t agree, right? I gave my head a slight shake. This Alpha was just getting in my head. “What’s your pack’s name? Who are you?” His smile grew wider. “Oh, I won’t be telling you that. You have a good amount of pack members who are on your side in this. I know you would lead them to hunt me and my pack down.” He’s right but his answer sparked a hope in me. He doesn’t want Keaton to know. I pretended to give up, but I knew Keaton would track me. We had some of the best trackers in the world. I hung my head. “How long do I have to stay here?” I looked up at the Alpha and he narrowed his eyes. “Your council meeting is in 2 days so we will drop you back off at home in 3.” I nodded. “Do I have to stay chained to this chair the entire time? My arm is killing me, and I would rather it not heal at this odd angle.” A look of suspicion came onto the Alpha’s face. “We are readying a cell for you. Don’t bother trying to escape or shift. There is silver on the bars and you’ll be guarded full time.” I nodded but didn’t answer back. He apparently didn’t know me at all. I don’t give up and I don’t lay down for tyrants to take over. The Alpha watched as two guards began undoing my chains. I needed to fight but could I in my weakened state? I know I couldn’t take on an Alpha right now. We were also surrounded. I was going to have to wait. I allowed the guards to take me with no fight. They were gentle enough.
Once I was settled into my cell, I reset my arm. It hurt, bad. One guard was left to guard me. I needed to get the cell door unlocked then I needed to get the main door unlocked. There is a door that leads outside that I saw. That would be the door I need. I just hoped the guard had the keys. I would need to seduce him. That was the only way he would let me out. Or I could scare him. I had to be careful what path I took. I would only get one chance to run. I spent the rest of the day studying the guard. No one else came down here. He would shift looks at me every once in a while. His expression is a little hard to read but I think its pity. I can tell there is no lust in his eyes. Maybe fear is the way to go. I get up from the hard bed I was sitting on to go closer to the bars. I make sure that my face shows the pain I am feeling. “Hi. What’s your name?” He turns around and nervously looks toward the door that is now behind him. “I’m not supposed to talk to you.” His eyes run over my bruised face and my arm that I’m clutching to my chest. “Oh. I’m sure you don’t want to get in trouble. I’m just bored. These days of waiting are going to be torture without someone to talk to.” A look flashes across his face. I couldn’t tell what it was, but something isn’t right. “Do you know something I don’t?” He visibly swallowed and nodded his head. “You know that Alpha Keaton is going to kill anyone who had anything to do with this. Right?” He nodded again and glanced toward the door. It was silent so he stepped forward and lowered his voice. “They don’t plan on releasing you. Alpha Keaton didn’t actually have anything to do with this. They are going to kill you to weaken him.” My breath catches in my throat. I knew Keaton had nothing to do with it and I don’t really care if they kill me. Killing me would kill Keaton though. “I need you to get me out of here.” I look at the guard and I can tell he’s nervous. I try to sweeten the deal. “If you help me escape and you get me to my Alpha, I’ll ensure he doesn’t kill you.” I knew I couldn’t promise anything else. He shakes his head quickly. “I need more then that. I need your pack to keep me safe.” It was my turn to shake my head. “I can’t promise that. It’s not my decision alone. I will try to get your safety in our pack, but I can’t promise it.” The guard glanced back at the door then at me. I knew he was weighing out his options. I decided to push a little more. “Keeping me here, allowing them to kill me. That is a death sentence. You know what my Alpha will do. My death might weaken him, but I don’t think it will. I think it will cause him to murder this entire pack with no question. Women, children, everyone. If you get me to him safely, he will only kill those who had something to do with it.” I knew that truth. Keaton was an unforgiving man, but he didn’t kill innocents if he didn’t have to. I could see the realization on the guard’s face. He nodded once before pulling a key out of his pocket.
