Luca and I fell asleep with my back against his chest and his arms wrapped protectively around me. We watched the girls sleep until our eyes closed, both of us finally feeling a sense of calm. Keeping the connection between us open was easier than I expected it to be. In fact, it had taken more work to hide my feelings from him than it had to completely let him in. After such a raw moment, our emotions balanced out, and I had never felt so much at peace. I fell asleep easily and was completely content.
