***Blake's POV*** The moment I stepped inside my penthouse and the door clicked shut behind me, it felt as though the rest of the world had disappeared. It was strange how something as simple as a closed door could separate me from the noise outside. The endless chaos of the city, the blaring horns, the conversations, the demands, and the expectations all seemed to vanish in an instant. Silence greeted me like an old companion. Sometimes that silence felt comforting. Other times it felt unbearably heavy. Tonight, however, I welcomed it. After the exhausting day I had endured, the quiet was exactly what I needed. As always, the lights switched on automatically the moment I entered. A soft glow spread throughout the spacious living area while the air conditioner hummed to life.
