Percy paused and then suddenly laughed, his eyes gradually reddening.
"Gabriel, what's really going on with you? Is it that you don't trust Ashley, or are you just feeling insecure?"
His laughter suddenly faded into an indifferent tone. "Ashley had an accident last night. She fell off her bike and hit her head. I took her to the hospital and stayed with her all night! You can check with the hospital if you think I'm lying. You doubt my words, and you even doubt Ashley's. Gabriel, I don't know whether to call you overly sensitive or just plain naive."
Gabriel didn't argue. He had indeed misunderstood Ashley, yet whenever they were together, he would always let his jealousy cloud his judgment!
Her aloof demeanor always left him feeling unsettled, fearing she might eventually leave him!
