Carrol froze, swallowing hard. "Mr. Watson..."
Gabriel studied her expression, certain now that Ashley was here. Stepping past Carrol, he strode into the apartment.
The moment Ashley heard his voice, she instinctively pulled the blanket tighter around herself and shrank further into the bed.

He actually found her!
Carrol, a step too late, hurried over and positioned herself in front of the bedroom door, arms spread wide. "Please leave. Ashley doesn't want to see you."
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, giving her a scrutinizing look.
Silently, his gaze was enough to intimidate Carrol, but she bravely stood her ground.
"She doesn't want to see you!"
