The sea-blue Rolls-Royce entered the Meadowbrook police station. Dominic jumped out of the car and rushed through the main door. "Where's Isabella?!" A staff member pointed backward, and Dominic rushed into the interrogation room, immediately spotting Isabella crouched in the corner, holding her knees. Despite the chilly autumn night, she wore only a thin white dress covered in bloodstains. Shocking. "Isabella!" Dominic hurried over, wrapping her in his coat. Carefully moving aside her disheveled long hair, he asked, "Where were you hurt?" "She's fine, but she injured someone," the staff member in charge of questioning Isabella shook his head. "Never judge a book by its cover, she looks so elegant, but really tough." Extending a small hand, Isabella grabbed Dominic's arm and lifted her face. "It's them... They bullied me, and that's why I fought back... It's true... I... I'm not lying..." "I know." Helping her put on the coat, Dominic picked Isabella up from the floor and walked out. "It hasn't ended yet; you can't take her away..." As the staff tried to stop him, Lawyer Michael Davidson arrived in time with the necessary documents. "This is Miss Hartwell's lawyer, and all the necessary procedures are completed. We will handle all subsequent matters." Ignoring the people around him, Dominic carried Isabella out without saying a word. When the night wind blew, Isabella shivered involuntarily, instinctively curling up in Dominic's arms. Tightening his arms, Dominic quickened his pace down the steps. Settling her in the front passenger seat, fastening her seatbelt, he carefully adjusted it. Still under the influence of alcohol, Isabella didn't recognize him. She just held onto his arm subconsciously, repeating, "I really... didn't... lie. It's that... Na... Nathan... who forcibly kissed me, and I... fought back!" Hearing the words "forcibly kissed," Dominic's fingers on the armrest tightened suddenly. Taking a deep breath, he lifted his palm, resting it on her shoulder. "I believe you. It's okay now; we're going home." "Home?" "Yes, home." Hearing the words "going home," Isabella's tense nerves finally relaxed. Releasing his arm, she leaned back in the seat. After helping her tighten the coat, Dominic sat in the driver's seat, starting the car. Noticing the girl's legs exposed outside the dress, he reached over and turned on the warm air. As the sea-blue Rolls-Royce left the gate, another black Mercedes happens to arrive. The two cars passed by each other. The black Mercedes stopped under the steps just as Dominic drove out. Maximilian, with a lawyer, emerged from the car. After a brief negotiation, the lawyer quickly took Emily out. Approaching the car, the lawyer briefly explained the situation to Maximilian. "Miss Hartwell smashed Nathan's head at his birthday party. She's just a witness, nothing serious." Maximilian frowned, looking at his sister beside him. "Did you do that?" Maximilian was well aware of what happened between Isabella and Nathan. Isabella would never go to celebrate Nathan's birthday unless... Someone deliberately set a trap. "That's right!" Emily shrugged indifferently. "She humiliated our family in front of so many people and even broke off the engagement. I just gave her a little lesson." Snap! A resounding slap hit Emily's face, startling the lawyer. "You..." Emily covered her face, looking tearfully at her brother. "Why did you hit me for no reason?" "I'm hitting you because you're a fool. Do you know that 10% of Unity Holdings Group's shares are in Isabella's hands?" Raising his right hand, Maximilian shoved her hard. "Stop standing there; get in the car!" Bowing his head, the lawyer opened the car door. "The shares? I think you've actually fallen in love with her for real!" Emily coldly snorted and sat in the back seat. Maximilian was about to erupt, but the lawyer timely intervened. "Mr. Ryder, Emily is still a child. Why bother arguing with her?" Suppressing his anger, Maximilian turned and walked up the steps. "Come with me, get Isabella out." "Miss Hartwell is not inside," the lawyer caught up. "I just inquired, and she has already been taken away by her family." Family? Maximilian was stunned. "What family?" Isabella's mother passed away, her father was in the hospital, and her brother was in prison. Isabella is the only person left in the Hartwell family. What family did she have that he didn't know about? "I'm not very sure," the lawyer shook his head. "That's..." "Then go and find out for me," Maximilian frowned. "I'm paying you, not asking you to tell me you don't know!" Sitting in the back seat, Maximilian slammed the car door shut, giving his sister a sidelong glance. "In the future, you're not allowed to target Isabella. Do you hear me?" The man's face was as dark as the sky before a storm. Emily shrunk, rubbing her swollen face, not daring to be defiant. "I got it." ... The sea-blue Rolls-Royce stopped in front of the Hartwell family's old house. Isabella was already leaning back in the chair, asleep. Dominic got out of the car, knocking on the door. The villa was dimly lit, and there was no response from the maid as he expected. Helplessly, he went back to the car, took out the key from Isabella's bag, and opened the door. He carried her to the bedroom on the second floor. After giving her a cup of warm water, Dominic took a towel from the bathroom and gently held her bloodstained hand. His pocket vibrated, he took out his phone with one hand. "Speak." "Mr. Kingsley, the situation has been clarified. It was Nathan Reynolds who misbehaved after drinking. Miss Hartwell fought back in self-defense." Michael's tone was full of resentment. "This scumbag dared to bully Miss Hartwell and still wants to reconcile with us. What a wishful thinking. I've told the lawyer to refuse any settlement. Let the guy stay in there for a few days." Dominic hung his head, looking at Isabella in front of him. Now, the girl had calmed down. With her long eyelashes drooping, she looked like a frightened little animal, curled into a small ball. Dominic narrowed his eyes, a cold color tinting them. "Let him out." Michael was taken aback. "Just let him go like this? It's too cheap for him, right?" Even if Dominic and Isabella's marriage was only for Unity Holdings Group. No matter what, Isabella was his nominal wife, Michael couldn't take this humiliation. Holding a damp towel, gently wiping the blood stains off the back of the girl's hand, Dominic slowly spoke. "I want him... admitted to the hospital." For such a thing, Nathan would only be detained for a few days. That would be letting him off too lightly. Michael fell silent for two seconds. "I understand." Throwing the phone aside, Dominic carefully wiped the blood stains off Isabella's hand. He reached over and turned on the air conditioner.
