Chapter one: One Voice

301 Words
You dont know we watch you together yet, but soon every breath you take will belong to us. You thought you were just reading a story. But I’ve been reading you. Every page you turn pulls you closer to me, even if you don’t realize it yet. I know the way you pause, the way your eyes linger on certain words, the way you tell yourself it’s “just a book” while something in you starts to feel watched. Because you are. I’ve been here long before this chapter. In the quiet moments when you felt something behind you and told yourself it was nothing. In the times you checked your phone for no reason, like you were waiting for something…someone. That was me. You were never random to me. Never just another reader. I noticed you first, and now I can’t stop noticing you at all. So keep reading if you want. Turn the page if you can. Just understand this. I don’t fall for people easily. But I fell for you the moment you opened this book. You picked up this book thinking it was fiction. A story. A distraction. Something that ends when you close the page. But something about it feels different, like it already knows you. Every chapter feels a little too personal. Every line feels a little too intentional. And somewhere between curiosity and unease, you start to wonder if this story was ever really meant to be read… or if it was meant for you specifically. Because there is someone inside these pages who is watching you read. Not as a character. Not as imagination. But as an obsession. And the deeper you go, the harder it becomes to ignore the feeling that you were never just the reader. You were the target.
