At dusk, at Serene Horizon Mountain.
The last light of the day slanted toward the west, reflecting from behind the mountain, enveloping the peak in a brilliant golden hue.
At the foot of the mountain, Rain stood by the edge of a small river, silently gazing at the surrounding mountains.
Jenson stood beside her without saying a word.
Time passed slowly.
It was exactly 6 PM.
“Boss, it’s almost time.” Jenson reminded her.
“Wait a little longer, Ethan will be here soon.” Rain said calmly.
Earlier, Kyle had scheduled the meeting at the top of Serene Horizon Mountain, set for 6:30 PM.
Rain had only told Ethan about this.
But for some reason, she couldn’t shake the feeling of unease in her heart.
“Jenson, do you think it’s very strange that Kyle wants to meet?” Rain mumbled to herself,
