Chapter 7 Emily Monroe “The internet is buzzing with disgusting comments about those impersonators. This feels so good." My assistant, Mona chuckled as she slowly scrolled through the iPad. We were on our way to Stiles' apartment. “What do you plan to do to them, Ms. Emily? Are you going to sue them? They really deserve it,” Mona wouldn't stop talking. The whole time, I had my head resting on the headrest with my eyes closed. I sighed and looked out through the window, feeding my eyes with anything worth it. “I will find a way to handle it, Mona,” I glanced at her, and she nodded. My mind wandered off to Stiles, and for a moment, a faint smile spread across my lips. The thought of him always made my heart flutter. Hiding my desires for him all these years have been a quiet torment, but even so, I was scared. Scared that history will repeat itself again. Yes, Stiles might be different, but what if he changes along the line the same way Josh did? "Maybe we are better off as friends,” I muttered, releasing a frustrating sigh. “Did you say something?" Mona asked, raising a brow. “No." I muttered, turning away. After a long peaceful drive, we arrived at Stiles's apartment, and we were welcomed by his maid. “This way, ma,” The maid, a slim young lady in her thirties, said, leading the way after she took my suitcase. As I followed her, my phone pinged with a text from Stiles. ‘I'm sorry I couldn't pick you up myself. I had something to take care of at the company. I will be back in a few hours’ ‘It’s fine. We are here already’ I replied to his text as I ascended the staircase, following the maid. She led us into a spacious room, designed just to my taste. My favourite air freshener graced my nose as soon as I walked inside. The queen-sized bed had a white bedspread on it. The golden colour floor length curtains were hung apart, sunlight illuminating the room. As I had requested, there were two closets in the room since I would be sharing it with Mona. I demanded to stay in the same room as Mona because I prefer it that way. “Call me if you need anything, ma,” my attention was drawn by the maid's voice, stopping me from admiring the room further. “Oh… thank you. I will,” “What would you like to eat, ma? I will go make it for you,” “We are fine for now. I will call you if I need anything,” I smiled at her briefly, and she nodded before leaving. “Goodness! This room is so beautiful!” Mona gasped, her hands flying to her mouth and her eyes widening as she scurried to the window side, looking out of it. She only looked out for seconds before turning back to me with a gasp and said. “I can see the garden from here. It's so beautiful! It's just like your room back home,” she whined, and I was tempted to go have a look. Just beneath my window, was the beautiful garden. A beautiful scenery. One I would never get tired of watching. My lips curled in a joyful smile, my fingers curling as I felt a spark of excitement in my stomach. Stiles took note of every little detail of the things I love, and the fact that he gave me a room where I could see the garden, just as I've always loved it, made my cheeks flushed excitedly. “Mr. Stiles is so intentional. I love this!” Mona squealed excitedly, and I rolled my eyes at her before going back inside. Mona went to throw herself on the bed. “My goodness! The bed is so soft! I love this! I can finally get a good sleep. Not like those bone piercing beds at the hotel.” she scoffed, obviously displeased by the hotel. Well, that is one of the reasons I hate being in hotels. Not all of them have good service, and this place was one of them. “We have work to do tonight, Mona. Don't play around and arrange our clothes in the closets. We need to make plans for tomorrow,” I left her and headed into the bathroom after stripping out of my dress. Mona was done arranging our clothes in the closet by the time I got back inside the room. "That was fast." "Yeah. I just wanted to finish it quickly..." She paused, turning to me. "What's next?" "I'm not sure yet. Go shower first." "Alright. I'll be back." Mona left for the bathroom while I went ahead to get changed and prepare for the rest of the day. Stiles's call came in as I threw the closet open to find something to wear, so I paused to attend to him first. “Hey! Just leaving the office now. Wanted to ask if you needed me to get you anything on my way back.” my cheeks flushed hot at the sound of his calm and sweet voice. “Uhm… no…nothing. I'm fine.” my voice came out almost in a whisper, as I swallowed nothing, my grip around the phone tightening. I felt my chest heat up as my heart quickened. He always has this effect on me. After the call, I dropped my hand beside me, biting my lip hard while staring into space. “You have feelings for Mr. Stiles, don't you?” I flinched when Mona's voice sounded so close to my ear. "Gosh! You scared me!" I turned to glare at her. "You were blushing." She added, smirking at me. "I wasn't!" I defended myself, but deep inside me, I knew she was right. She chuckled, walking away. 'Hey! Do you want to hang out with me tonight?' I typed a message on my phone to send to Stiles, but paused. "Ugh! Not today." I muttered, deleting the texts...
