A loud crash was heard, followed by flames blazing in the sky; the dragons were attacking the barrier.
Their attacks were fierce. Alessandro wrapped his arm around Abril's waist, and using his wind magic, the two of them rose into the sky.
Abril could see Cira riding one of the dragons. Abril felt her whole body tense up; despite the barrier, she could sense that something had changed in Cira.
Alessandro gently squeezed her waist to remind her that she was not alone, that he was by her side.
Abril felt comforted; his warmth eased her troubled and noisy heart a little. This would be a difficult battle, and perhaps even worse battles awaited her, but she was not alone; her husband, companion, and friend was by her side to comfort her.
