Sophia knew that her time to leave had come. She looked at Alessandro and then at her granddaughter, whose face was wet with tears.
"I wish you could have met me under better circumstances, without so much pain involved."
Lissana only wanted her mother at that moment, so she didn't respond to her words.
Sophia looked at her one last time and said,
"I hope you both find comfort in each other, goodbye little one."
After saying those words, her eyes closed and remained closed for a moment; when she opened them again, Sophia's spirit was gone, only Abril remained.
Lissana approached cautiously.
"Mother?"
Abril, upon seeing her daughter, hugged her and immediately asked,
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, mother."
Tears began to flow from her eyes again, and Abril hugged her as only a mother
