When Cassian woke up, he saw Maya sitting on the bed, reading the book her father had given her. She looked at him with a worried expression on her face; he gave her a gentle pat on the back to get her attention and asked,
"Have you been awake for long?"
"No."
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing."
"You seem restless. What's wrong?"
"Too many things, aren't you worried?"
"I am too, but I don't know, it seems like something else is bothering you."
"I'm a bit worried about the keys. I don't think they'll give them to us just by asking."
"I hadn't thought of that, but darkness affects us all. Shouldn't they want to help us?"
"I'm not so sure, but let's hope they do."
One of the maids knocked on Maya's room door and said,
"Miss Maya, I've been sent to fetch you."
