Cassian could see the green grass through the cave's exit. He reached out for Maya's hand, catching her as she emerged from the cave. The light blinded Maya, and when her eyes adjusted to it, she was astonished. In front of her was a beautiful clearing where the sky seemed bluer, and the grass beneath her feet was soft, lovely, and lime-green in color. In the distance, she could see a dense forest; the trees had different colors; they were bright and vibrant. Her father had told her stories about fairyland, but what she saw far exceeded his tales. She moved away from Cassian and walked towards a small lilac bush. She was going to touch its leaves since the unusual color had caught her attention, but Ethan stopped her.
