I was looking after my old friend when he left the village. I understood why Maria had done as she had, it had been the only way for us all to survived! But I was sorry we had to put that burden of blame on my friend! I knew that he didn't really had it in for wolves, he thought that as long as they didn't harm humans, there was no reason to hunt them. He did it only because he was a loyal soldier and followed orders! I turned to Maria and I saw tears running down her cheeks. I reached out and picked her up. I didn't say anything, I just carried her into the house. I sat down in a chair in the library with her on my lap. I held her and stroked her hair as I kissed her tears away.
