CHAPTER TWO
Audrey Potter was up at the crack of dawn to fix Jerry's breakfast. The kitchen of their two-bedroom mobile home was roomy and well-appointed. Everything was organized so rapidly that she took a few minutes to sip coffee in her living room. Jerry could sleep for another forty minutes.
She glanced out the window behind her sofa and stared idly at the small, pleasant trailer park in the morning light.
Audrey had been up for over an hour and she'd noticed Shelby Minor drive off just before daybreak. The mere sight of the sandy-haired construction worker had tempted Audrey to wake her husband for some early-morning loving. Jerry was agreeable to morning sessions about half the time. He was more of a night person. Audrey was ready to go at any hour.
