As Dennis held Catherine close, he could feel her trembling with fear. He wanted to protect her, to keep her safe from whatever was haunting her.
But as they stood there, a loud voice echoed through the hallway, making them both jump.
"Catherine, we need to talk," the voice said.
Catherine's eyes widened in terror as she pulled away from Dennis. "It's him," she whispered. "My husband."
Dennis's instincts told him to stay calm, but his heart was racing with anticipation. Who was this man, and what did he want?
As they walked out of the bathroom, Dennis saw a tall, menacing figure standing in the hallway. He had a cruel smile on his face, and his eyes seemed to bore into Catherine's soul.
"You're coming with me," the man growled, his voice dripping with malice.
Catherine shook her head, her eyes pleading with Dennis for help. "No, please," she whispered.
Dennis stepped forward, his fists clenched. "I don't think so," he said, his voice firm.
The man sneered at Dennis. "Mind your own business," he snarled.
But Dennis stood his ground. "Catherine, do you want to go with him?" he asked.
Catherine shook her head again, her eyes welling up with tears. "No," she whispered.
Dennis turned to the man. "I think she's made it clear she doesn't want to go with you," he said.
The man's face twisted with rage, but he seemed to be calculating his next move. Suddenly, he pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Catherine.
"You'll pay for this," he hissed, before turning and storming off.
Catherine looked at the paper, her eyes widening in horror. "What is it?" Dennis asked.
Catherine handed him the paper. On it was a cryptic message:
"You'll never be free."
Dennis's heart sank. What did the message mean? And who was this man, really?
As they stood there, trying to make sense of the message, Dennis realized that he had to protect Catherine. He had to keep her safe from this man and his sinister plans.
But as they walked out of the reunion venue, Dennis couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. That the man was still out there, waiting for his next move.
And Dennis knew that he had to be ready.
