Dennis and Catherine walked out of the reunion venue, their minds racing with questions. Who was Catherine's husband, and what did he want from her?
As they stepped into the cool night air, Dennis noticed a black sedan following them. He quickened his pace, his heart racing with anticipation.
"What's wrong?" Catherine asked, noticing Dennis's concern.
"I think we're being followed," Dennis replied, his eyes fixed on the sedan.
Catherine's eyes widened in fear. "Oh no," she whispered.
Dennis pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "I need a favor," he said into the phone.
As they walked, Dennis explained to Catherine that he had called a friend who owned a security company. "He'll help us get to the bottom of this," Dennis said.
Catherine nodded, her eyes still fixed on the sedan. "Thank you, Dennis," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As they turned a corner, the sedan disappeared from view. Dennis breathed a sigh of relief, but Catherine's grip on his arm tightened.
"What's wrong?" Dennis asked.
Catherine's eyes were wide with fear. "I think I know what's going on," she said.
Dennis's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean?" he asked.
Catherine hesitated, her eyes darting around nervously. "I think my husband is involved in something sinister," she said.
Dennis's grip on Catherine's arm tightened. "What kind of something?" he asked.
Catherine's voice dropped to a whisper. "I think he's involved in human trafficking."
Dennis's eyes widened in horror. "We need to get out of here," he said, his voice firm.
As they quickly walked away from the area, Dennis knew that he had to protect Catherine at all costs. But he also knew that they were in grave danger.
And Dennis was determined to uncover the truth, no matter what it took.
