Dennis and Catherine quickly walked away from the area, their eyes scanning the streets for any signs of danger. They had to find a safe place to hide, and fast.
As they turned a corner, Dennis spotted a small alleyway between two buildings. "In here," he whispered to Catherine, pulling her into the alleyway.
Catherine's eyes widened as she looked around. The alleyway was narrow and dimly lit, with tall buildings looming on either side. "Where are we going?" she whispered.
Dennis didn't answer. Instead, he pulled out a small key from his pocket and unlocked a door hidden behind a dumpster.
"Welcome to my safe house," he said, smiling.
Catherine's eyes widened as she stepped inside. The room was small, but it was equipped with everything they needed: food, water, medical supplies, and a computer.
"How did you know about this place?" Catherine asked, her eyes scanning the room.
Dennis smiled. "Let's just say I have my ways," he said.
As they settled in, Dennis quickly got to work on the computer. He was trying to hack into Alex's email account, to see if he could find any clues about his sinister plans.
Catherine watched in amazement as Dennis's fingers flew across the keyboard. "How do you know how to do all this?" she asked.
Dennis smiled. "I have a lot of skills," he said.
Just then, the computer beeped. Dennis's eyes scanned the screen, and his expression hardened.
"What is it?" Catherine asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Dennis turned to her, his eyes locked on hers. "Alex is planning something big," he said. "And it's going to happen tonight."
Catherine's eyes widened in fear. "What is it?" she whispered.
Dennis's expression hardened. "I don't know yet," he said. "But we're going to find out."
As they quickly made a plan, Catherine realized that she had never felt so alive. She was finally taking control of her life, and she had Dennis by her side.
But as they prepared to face whatever dangers lay ahead, Catherine couldn't shake off the feeling that they were in over their heads. And she was right.
As they left the safe house and made their way back to the streets, they were met with a surprise.
A group of men, all dressed in black, were waiting for them.
"Welcome, Catherine," one of the men sneered. "We've been waiting for you."
Dennis quickly stepped forward, his eyes locked on the men. "You're not taking her anywhere," he growled.
But the men just laughed. "You're no match for us," one of them sneered.
And with that, the fight began.
