Chapter 3: Our First (Not) Night!

1013 Words
I opened my eyes, relieved as he didn't touch me or even, we didn't do that thing. Instead, he teased me all night because my dumbass self decided to close my eyes unknowingly, and immediately, he got off and burst into laughter. "Your mouth keeps saying you don't care about me, but your body is frank," his words echoed throughout the room. His voice is like something tormenting, unable to shut it out of my mind and buried six feet under. I hadn't seen him, 'Do I sound mean that I'm kind of glad he's not here to torment me anymore?' I don't mean in a wrong way; it's just Ranjit would be obnoxiously annoying if it weren't for this arranged marriage. I wouldn't pursue him even if we were the last ones on earth. After completing my morning routine, I headed downstairs and greeted my in-laws. "Dear, how was your night?" my mother-in-law asked. I know she's a king. We didn't do anything, but 'Should I tell her that in detail?' "Mom, don't ask her that. It's privacy," my sister replied. "No, it's okay. Auntie, My night was good," I replied. "Well, come down and sit, have breakfast with us. Ranjit went out for a stroll; he should've been back," his mom said, looking at the world clock. However, when she would call him, he popped out of nowhere, and his curly hair was styled and parted in the middle. 'He looks handsome! What are you thinking, Mina?' "Mina, don't be shy. This is your home, so please call me Mom, not Auntie. Understood?" "Alright, Mom," I said, correcting myself immediately because I would've said, Auntie. Ranjit took the seat beside me. "Honey, why don't you make me food?" Ranjit said. I hugged him because I didn't want my mother-in-law to see it. "Okay, darling," I replied and immediately gagged at the thought. "Mom, please tell them to get a room and not to do this here," my sister-in-law said. "Oh, be quiet, Shreya. Wait until you have a husband, and we'll see if you wouldn't be lovey-dovey with him," Ranjit replied. Shreya stuck her tongue at him, and he did the same. "Childish!" Shreya said. I agree, but their relationship is also so cute. I've always wanted a brother, but we're all girls. Still, I wouldn't have it any other way. "Darling, are you done?" Ranjit asked, making me nod and hand him his plate. I also served myself, and we ate quietly together. Then suddenly, I felt his hand on my thigh. 'Huh?' I gasped quietly. I haven't been this close to any guy, and the fact that he placed his hand on my thigh makes me feel some way. You know, I don't know how to describe it. My body reacted differently, yet my heart refused, so I removed his hand from my thigh. He placed it there again and squeezed my inner thigh. "Stop!" I whispered, but it only resulted in him smirking at me. I didn't bother with him and continued eating my food. Then, my mother–in–law decided to ask me a question. "Mina, dear, Are you okay? Be careful before you choke on your food," she said. "Mom, I'm fine," I replied, swallowing the food. "Also, I wanted to talk to you guys about giving me grandchildren," she said. Ranjit didn't make me choke on my food, but that sentence certainly did: 'Come on; we got a ride yesterday! Grandchildren are a bit too early, aren't they?' I can't tell her that because I would've replied, but Ranjit, this stupid man, beat me to it. "Mom, we'll give you grandchildren soon. I'm sure Mina is fine with that, right?" he said, squeezing my inner thigh. "Yes, Ranjit is right, Mom. We'll try our best, I said with a smile. It was a fake smile, but my mother-in-law believed it. I excused myself and headed upstairs, "Before you leave, Shreya and I wanted to take you shopping and also to the spa because I know you must be tired from last night," she said, winking at me. "Thank you, mom," I replied. I went upstairs, and Ranjit followed suit, but I overheard his mom: "Treat her nicely. She's a good girl, and I love her. I planned to merge our businesses, so don't ruin it," his mom asserted. 'So we only get married because of money?' I can't believe I could be so foolish as to agree to this marriage. Ranjit enters the room and finds me pacing to and fro. "Why are you pacing around like a lost hyena?" he sarcastically asked. "Why did you do that?" I asked. "Whatever do you mean!" he replied. He grabbed his towel, but I stopped him and pushed him against the wall; "Don't play dumb; you touched my thigh, and you know very well I was uncomfortable," I said, my voice coming higher than I intended. "Tsk, Tsk, you shouldn't pin a man against the wall, you know that," he replied. "Is your mind only filled with filthy thoughts?" I queried. "I'll show you what else my mind is filled with," he replied. Ranjit carried me to the bed and hovered on top of me, "Mother said we should give her grandkids, so we'll begin now because yesterday night you were no fun," Ranjit uttered. “Dad," I said. "Where?" he replied, immediately getting off me. "Oh, so you want to trick me. Trust me, Mina, you can't escape the grasp of a lion," he said. 'My god, he's condescending.' With that, he kissed me, and though I tried to fight him off, he pinned my hands above my head. "No, don't do this, please," I cried. He stopped trying to unbutton my shirt and left, heading to the bathroom. "We'll continue this tonight, so prepare yourself," he said before closing the door. 'How can I escape him? I'm sure he won't let me off even if I cried a river of tears. I must think of a way.'
