Chapter 4: Blooming Flower Turn To Ash (Part 2)

217 Words
When we arrived at our house, my mom and grandmother, including Auntie Kareena, came out. They hugged me and comforted me, but nothing could stop me from sobbing even louder; "How could you be driven out of your in-laws' house after one night?" Auntie Kareena said. My grandmother and Leela glared at her, "Come on, Mina. Let's head inside, and you can shower and then eat dinner," Grandma Ruhi said. "I'm not hungry. I'll shower and go straight to bed," I replied, dragging my suitcase behind me. "She's too young to be a widow. You should've listened to me and let her continue her education," Grandma Ruhi uttered. I didn't have the strength to hear who was wrong and who was not because the blame was all on me now. I went to the bathroom and turned on the shower. After forty-five minutes, I got out of the shower, put on my pajamas, and lay on the bed. I tried to calm myself, but Ranjit's face kept appearing in my mind, and my tears fell uncontrollably. After a few minutes, I finally fell asleep, but barely. Ranjit is all I could think about, with memories of our short time together occupying my thoughts. Mina world would've thought that she, a blooming flower, would suddenly turn into ashes.
