Chapter Ten They retraced their route through the forest, riding single file between the trees. The way was unmarked for the first hour, but Cadoc rode without hesitation; he was as much at home in these woods as he was at Dappleward Manor. When they reached the main trail, he reined back to ride at Larkspur’s side, holding out his hand to her. Larkspur’s smile was shyly radiant. She tucked her hand into his. There was a glow in her cheeks and her eyes were luminous and she was so different from the woman who’d found him yesterday in the stables that Cadoc almost couldn’t believe it.
