Chapter3; Third Impressions

JACKSON’S POV

“Dad, who is this?” I asked my father

“Now that’s no way to greet our guest is it?, this is my new secretary, Betty” He said

“Umm, ok? What is she doing here in a robe?” I asked

“Hi, you must be Jackson, your dad has told me a lot about you” Betty said

“I WAS TALKING TO MY FATHER” I shouted

“Jackson! What is your problem?” He asked

“Well my problem is, your wife is in India on vacation and you’re here alone, at home, with your new ‘secretary’, in a f*****g robe, that is a little bit too suspicious” I answered

“That is no way to talk to your father, young man, I am not obligated to answer any of your questions, go to your room, NOW!” He said

“I wonder why you always do this” I say while heading upstairs to my room

When I got upstairs, I texted Talia

“Hey, my dad is at home right now and I don’t know when he’s gonna go out, could you come later in the midnight?” I texted her

“Um sure, just let me know when he leaves” She responded

I went downstairs about to head back to Oliver’s house when suddenly I heard a soft moan coming out of my father’s room

“Ughhh, slow down Michael, slo-” That sounded like Betty’s voice

Of course it’s her, a ‘secretary’ dressed in a robe is so sus

My mother is never reachable, as if she tries her best to ignore me whenever she’s on vacation.

I left the house angrily and went back to Oliver’s house

“Talia left early?” He asked

“My dad literally-” I stopped, I hadn’t told Oliver about my dad’s cheating before and was not ready to reveal anything to him

“You were saying?” Oliver asked

“My dad is just annoying, he said no girls allowed after 6pm and I just can’t deal with him right now” I said

“Well, it’s only 5:30” Oliver said

“What do you think I want to do, a quickie? I need this to be long and special, but I can’t do that while he’s still around” I said

“Well you can just stay here and wait for him to leave” Oliver said

“Thanks Ol” I said

“By the way, where are your parents?” I asked

“Well they went out for mini golf at the country club but they’ll be back soon and-” Glass shatters

Oliver is cut short by the shattering of glass in the background.

We both trace the sound of the noise and found Oliver’s younger sister, Cherry in front of shattered glass

“s**t!! What did you do, Cherry?” Oliver asked

“I, I try to go up with the glass but, my hand slipped” Cherry, who was two years old tried to answer

“It’s ok, are you ok?, let’s get you cleaned up” Oliver asked

As he was cleaning Cherry up, I asked

“How do you even cope with a little sister”

“Well Jackson, you just learn to cope with her” He answered

“Jickson you so cute” Cherry said while giggling

“Well Cherr, you didn’t tell a lie” I replied

Oliver prepared her dinner and I convinced him to play games with me.

It was already 9pm and his parents were back.

"Good evening Mr and Mrs McPherson” I greeted

“Oh darling, how are you?, join us for dinner?” Mrs McPherson asked

At that same moment, I saw my father’s car leaving the driveway and in that moment, I knew I had to seize my opportunity.

“I’m doing good ma’am, but I’m sure my father would want me home by now and I need to get going, I would have loved to join you guys for dinner” I said

I left their house and immediately texted Talia to come over

I entered my house and went upstairs, trying to arrange my room for when Talia would come.

Fifteen minutes later, the door bell rang.

I opened it, it was Talia, with her short beautiful black curly hair, and her golden brown eyes and cute smile, she was so beautiful

“Hey Jackson, umm are you gonna keep staring or invite me in?” Talia said

“Oh my bad, I’m so sorry, come in” I replied

“Wow, pretty nice place you have here.” Talia said

“Thank you” I replied

“Soo, umm, wanna watch a movie or something, I can prepare popcorn or make dinner for you, if you want?” I asked her

“Yeah sure, a movie sounds great and we could make popcorn” She replied

We made popcorn together and I asked her what kind of movie she wanted, “So do you wanna watch horror, action, romance or comedy?” I asked her

“How about we watch an action movie? Seems good enough” She replied

“Well, action it is” I replied

The movie started and was going pretty great, but I didn’t know how to make the first move

“Um, I’m feeling hot, could you maybe open the window or something?” Talia asked

“Uh sure, let me open it” I said

I expected her to come unto me but she just went to the bed

Bell rings

As I was heading to class, I heard a group of boys talking

“What’s going on here?” A voice from afar said
