(Juliette's POV) Dominic walked in carrying a glass of warm water and a blister pack of pain pills. "Your period is a week late," he said, setting them on the nightstand. "You probably caught a chill. I ran to the pharmacy and got something for the cramps." He held up a heating pad. "Picked this up too." He knelt beside the bed and tucked the heating pad under my lower abdomen, adjusting it carefully. Then he pressed the water and pills into my hand. "Just lie still," he said, his voice soft. "Don't move around." I didn't move. I sat there holding my phone, and my eyes were already burning. The messages on the screen were from Bianca. She'd sent them in a row, one after another, each one more pleased with itself than the last. She wrote that she'd talked Dominic into taking my phone
