Chapter 9 Harvesting the DeadGarston, Velha and Ahan were seated around the table in Garston’s tent. They had feasted on suckling pig and red wine, their stomachs full and tongues loosened. They talked of old feuds and vendettas that at present seemed long forgotten, common causes often had ways of drawing even enemies together. Garston had pitched camp well downwind of the stench and had ordered a clean-up party out at first light, a task that his lieutenant was not happy to accept, Garston remained firm and reminded him of the perils of disobeying commands. Both Velha and Ahan had volunteered some of their men to help as a gesture of good faith.
