*Olivia* Time crawls by. Sometimes I am cold, shivering, and other times I am so hot I think I’ll burn up. Jack never returns to check on my welfare. I assume he lost interest, once he realized I’ll survive and be around to manage his household. I miss Hunter dreadfully, but I know it would frighten him to see me so weak. Every morning and every evening, the angelic physician comes to see how I’m doing. His arrivals allow me to keep track of the passing of the days. It is on the third night that my fever finally breaks, and he seems most pleased when he arrives in the morning and sees me sitting up in bed. “You’re not my normal physician,” I say.
