Lyra and Jess stared at me in shock.
“What the f**k are you doing here?” Lyra finally asked, after a tense moment.
“Oh me.” I pointed at myself innocently.
“I followed you and Jess to see those amazing seduction skills you were bragging about…”
Lyra's face twisted into a frown, lips turned down in displeasure.
“The one you were going to use to trap Mr Gareth, remember?…”
Her fingers fisted by her side, chest rising up and down slowly.
I knew she was close…
Very close to breaking.
But I continued anyway.
Not minding the fact that she looked just about ready to pounce on me if I said the one thing she didn't want to hear.
I smirked, placing a hand on my hip.
“Safe to say… all I saw was you failing woefully.”
I let out a dramatic sigh.
“f*****g b***h!” She seethed, lunging at me.
I barely had enough time to react before her hands buried themselves in my hair.
“Ahh—” I hissed, stumbling backwards as she yanked hard.
“Oh my God!” Jess screamed.
My shock lasted only a second.
Then rage followed.
I grabbed Lyra’s wrist, digging my nails into her skin before shoving her hard against the desk.
The desk screeched loudly against the floor.
“You psycho!” she shrieked, clawing at my arm.
“And you're a desperate hoe!” I shot back.
She gasped in outrage, then launched herself at me again.
This time, we both crashed to the floor.
“Oh! God!” Jess gasped.
From behind me, I heard someone shout.
“They're fighting!”
Soon enough, footsteps began rushing towards the scene.
But I didn't care.
I was going to teach this b***h a lesson.
I elbowed her on the stomach, causing her to buckle.
“I'll f*****g kill you!” She squealed.
Her fingers tangled in my hair once more while I tried prying her hands off me.
“Let go!” I yelled.
“Make me!” she screamed back.
I shoved her shoulder hard.
She slapped me across the face.
My head snapped sideways.
Cheers followed immediately.
“Go Lyra, you look smokin’ hot!” Some guy screamed from the crowd.
“Show us some skin, Rosie!”
“f**k you!” I screeched.
Then I tackled Lyra fully.
A loud chorus of screams erupted around us.
Chairs toppled over.
Someone yelled for a teacher.
“Get off me, b***h!” She growled, trying to pull me off.
“Make me, hoe!” I yelled back, punching her face.
She screeched, scratching at my cheek blindly.
I threw another punch.
Then another.
The hoots from the crowd felt like they were pumping something into my veins.
“Go, Rosie!” Someone screamed.
“Rosie, stop!” Jess cried.
“Jesus Christ, Rosie!” Lena's voice floated into my ears.
I wanted to stop.
I really wanted to, but I couldn't.
All my anger.
My fears.
My frustrations.
All of it had built up inside of me. And now—it had somewhere to go.
“Rosie, stop. You're hurting her,” Lena yelled.
But at that point.
Neither of us were listening anymore.
“What the hell is going on here—” Principal Nowell stopped mid-sentence.
“Oh my God.” She gasped.
The surrounding noise dulled slightly.
Suddenly—
Hands wrapped around my waist, lifting me up from Lyra.
Warm.
Familiar.
And somehow, the fact that he was here made me more angry.
“Let go of me.” I grunted, trying to twist my body while kicking the air.
“Enough! Rosie,” Henry's voice boomed in my ears.
I stilled.
Chest heaving.
A few people reached for Lyra, pulling her up.
“Take her to the infirmary immediately,” Principal Nowell ordered, and they carried her out.
Jess rushed after her.
I wiped the blood off my nose with the back of my palm.
“Miss Alphonse! To my office, now,” Principal Nowell said, walking away.
“School is dismissed, all of you go to your homes.”
With that she walked out.
“We'll see at home,” Henry said and walked away.
My hands reached towards him—then fell back to my side.
I gritted my teeth, fingers fisting by my sides.
The students slowly began dispersing.
One by one.
Till the only people left were Lena and I.
“Christ Rosie. What the hell happened?” Lena asked, coming closer.
I sniffled.
“I'll explain later, Lena. Principal Nowell wants me in her office.”
I brushed past her, heading for the door.
A few students lingered by the door, their eyes watching me warily.
“Move.” I growled, and they did.
Parting like the Red Sea… or more like I was the plague.
They mumbled quietly as I moved further away.
Soon enough… their voices faded away, swallowing me in silence.
The only constant sound for a brief while was the patter of my feet against the tiled floor.
Finally,
I came to a stop in front of the thick mahogany door.
I exhaled heavily, rolling my neck from side to side.
“It's alright, Rosie. She hit you first, so it was just self-defense and besides…”
Lyra wasn't going to tell Principal Nowell what started the fight seeing as it would implicate her, which meant…
I wasn't going to say anything either.
I twisted the doorknob before pushing the door open.
“Alphonse Rosie Richards.”
A familiar voice said as soon as I stepped into the office.
My gaze snapped to Principal Nowell, then to the laptop by her side.
Only this time, the expression on her face wasn't her usual doting look.
Brows pinched tightly.
Eyes hard.
Lips turned down in disappointment…
All these emotions, driven by one in particular.
Anger.
Fuck, Rosie.
You've just introduced yourself to some really deep s**t.
