Chapter 39 — Things Henry Gareth Does That Makes Me Wet

861 Words
Three hours into the equations and I was certain that Henry was kidding about the next session. “What is ten multiplied by itself five times.” “Ten raised to the power of five.” I grunted. “Very good Rosie.” I rolled my eyes in annoyance. “I believe we're done with the basics… now onto the next session.” I sat up immediately. Henry walked towards his desk, pulled open the drawer and brought a nylon bag out. He dragged his chair a few feet away from me, then sat down. I stared at him in confusion. “What is that?” “This?” he echoed, holding the bag up. “Very important material…” My frown deepened. What exactly was this all about? He pulled something out of the bag. A book rather. My eyes widened as soon as they landed on the covers. “Volume one,” he said, placing the book on his lap. “Volume two.” I could practically feel angels crowning me with shame. “Volume three.” Alchemy of shame. “Volume four.” Queen of shame. “Volume five.” Thrones of shame… Until all that remained was me, face red, squirming with embarrassment. “Five volumes of things Henry Gareth does that make me wet.” Henry said, with a cocky smirk. Oh God. “Do you want to know how I found them?” Henry asked. I stood up abruptly, marching towards him. “Give them to me.” I bit out. He grinned coyly. “No.” I reached for the books, but he hid them behind his back. “Give them back, Henry.” “I refuse to, Rosie?” I groaned, launching at him. He stood up quickly, holding the books over his head. “Stop this, Henry. Return my books,” I ordered, reaching for them. “You mean these porn drafts,” he replied, holding the books high without much effort. “f**k you.” I seethed, pulling back as soon as I realized there was no way I was going to reach it. His hand fell back down. “I didn't think you'd give up that easily.” he said, My lips quivered slightly as tears gathered in my eyes. “You had no right, Henry. No right to go through my personal stuff—” “I believe you also had no right, imagining and writing about your high school teacher being in such a precarious position with you, Rosie.” I huffed, walking towards the door instead. “Do whatever the hell you want—” Arms suddenly wrapped around my waist, lifting me off the floor before dropping me on the desk. Henry stood between my legs, staring down at me with a heated gaze. My lips parted slightly, my eyes fixed on him with equal fervor. All my anger. Embarrassment. Melted away… like they'd never existed in the first place. “I always knew you had forbidden thoughts about me, Rosie.” Henry murmured, brushing his thumb over my bottom lip. “Trust me, I always knew.” I closed my eyes, leaning into his touch. “But this… this was something I never expected in a million years.” “How so?” I whispered. “The tiny details I never even noticed about myself…” he leaned forward. “Like how I bite my pen cap, whenever I'm struggling to grade the papers.” His lips brushed against my ear, eliciting a sigh from me. “How my eyebrows would twitch whenever I found something annoying.” His fingers trailed over my bare thighs, leaving a burning trail of need behind. “How I always show up wearing a suit on Tuesdays and Fridays…” His fingers trailed higher, stopping an inch away from where I wanted him to be. “Then on Mondays, I wear the same cotton shirt and jeans trousers. And although I manage to look okay… there's this sad look in my eyes.” He paused, leaning away from me. My eyes fluttered open, gazing at him. Searching. “You always wonder if I had a rough night the day before.” I blushed scarlet. He smiled softly. “Do you want to know what I do every Sunday?” I nodded. He stared at me quietly. For a moment there, I thought he wasn't going to continue. Then— “I always visit my brother's grave, then drink myself into a stupor until three am.” The smile dropped from my face. But his… remained. “And the same cotton shirt and jeans I wore, were his favorite.” My heart twisted painfully. Who was I kidding? Of course his smile fell too. I never realized how much attention I paid to him until this moment. Not in a normal way. Not in the harmless little-crush kind of way. No… I noticed Henry Gareth like breathing. Like it was natural. Constantly. Unconsciously. I knew Henry Gareth too well to know that look in his eyes… To know that, that charming smile… was now replaced— By a sad one.
