  ASHER'S POV   I'm back at Silver Moon, but it doesn't feel like I've returned. It's like I'm here, physically, going through the motions, walking through familiar grounds, but my mind's stuck out there somewhere in the woods, still chasing shadows that keep slipping away.   Hunter's missing. No one has seen him. No trail. No scent. Nothing. I searched every damn corner of that region and came back with dirt under my nails and nothing to show for it. It's eating me alive.   I step into the barracks late at night when everyone else is asleep. The hallway's quiet, too quiet. I walk straight to Hunter's cot, my chest tight like something's trying to claw its way out.
