  ASHER'S POV   I get the summons just before sunrise. It is written on black paper with no seal and no signature.   That alone tells me it is from the Blades.   No one else sends messages like this, just a folded scrap tucked in my boot locker like a threat or a reminder. I don't even blink anymore. I just shove it in my pocket and start getting dressed, careful not to wake Harper.   The barracks are quiet, still asleep, except for a few early risers dragging their boots toward the field.
