CULTURE Darren left the two of us on the terrace. I was left to wonder hopelessly. 'What did he mean by that? ' "Was that a joke?" "Why wasn't I his twin all of a sudden?" I was thoroughly shaken inside out. I was searching for logic in his statement. He was insistent on accusing me of being an outsider. Was that really true? My mind was shaken and it seemed as if my entire world was crashing down. .... 'Arggh!' I heard Daniel's pained cry. For a few seconds, I had forgotten that he was there too, tied to a chair, beaten and wasted. "Daniel! Does...does it hurt?" I fumbled those words out, untying the rope as carefully as I could. His face was telling me everything. That he was in pain. A broken nose and some pinkish taints were scattered here and there on his handsome face.
