MY MESSAGE TO MY GOD, MY SOURCE
A rhyming prayer from Ellen Marie to the One who never left
My God, my Source, my hidden light,
the hands that held me through the night—
I give You now my trembling soul,
the shattered parts You made still whole.
Forgive me for the times I strayed,
for nights I doubted what You made,
for all the days I fell apart
and questioned why You shaped my heart.
Forgive the moments I lost faith,
when pain outweighed the gift of grace.
Forgive the storms I walked alone,
forgetting You were always home.
Forgive the anger, sharp and wild,
the fear that made me not Your child.
Forgive the years I closed my eyes
to blessings hidden in disguise.
You saw my cries before I wept,
the secrets that my shadows kept.
You saw me drown in silent tears,
yet carried me through broken fears.
You watched me love beyond my strength,
gave breath to me at heaven’s length.
And even when I ran from You,
Your mercy pulled my spirit through.
My God, restore the parts I’ve lost,
the edges worn from pain’s old cost.
I place my life within Your palm,
where storms grow quiet, hearts grow calm.
Forgive the ways I held on tight
to things You whispered weren’t right.
Forgive the doors I forced to stay
that You were trying to take away.
I’ve wandered far, but here I stand,
my prayer a spark within Your hand.
I’m tired, Lord—You know I am,
I’m just a soul, a broken lamb.
But still You love me as I bleed,
You fill the cracks in what I need.
You kept me safe in unseen ways,
through hollow nights and haunted days.
I ask for strength, for breath, for peace,
for heavy burdens to release.
I ask for guidance when I shake,
for healing in the parts that break.
I ask You, God, to show me how
to live the life I’m walking now—
to raise these children with Your grace,
to see Your light in every face.
I ask You, Lord, to hold me near,
to quiet doubt, to silence fear.
Forgive the sins I cannot name,
the times I crumbled under shame.
Wash clean the grief I learned to hide,
place holy fire back inside.
Let every scar become a sign
that all I lost was still by design.
My God, my Source, my silent guide—
You’ve never once left from my side.
So here I am, with open hands,
a woman bowed but still she stands.
Forgive me, lead me, shape me true—
I give my life back up to You.
And when I’m weak, remind my heart:
You held me then.
You hold me now.
You’ve held me from the very start.
