Sky Queen

Chapter 4

Eira woke up groggy and found herself in an unfamiliar room. She massaged her head before scanning the whole room. Where am I? She got scared and nervously checked her whole body.

Thank God nothing bad happened to me., she sighed out of relief. She looked for her things and hurriedly got outside of the room and was surprised to see that she was still at the bar and no one of her batch mates was there. She got out of that place and hurriedly went home.

Good thing, her father buys her explanation why she just got home. But she couldn’t erase from her mind the playful smirk of her sister earlier. She must be planning something bad for her again, but she chose to ignore it and decided to focus and continue reviewing for her bar exams.

Time flew fast and nothing bad happened and that worry she felt was all forgotten. Today is also the day for the result of her bar exam. She’s nervous but she thinks of her hardworking father and his sacrifices for her and for her mom and sister as well, even though they aren’t that close.

Finally, the result is out! She hurriedly searched for her name; her hands were shaking, and her eyes widened as soon as she saw her name! I did it!

She screamed for joy and burst into tears. She hurriedly went and looked for her dad to share the good news, but when she finally saw him, he was looking at the phone he was holding with fury in his eyes and when he saw her, disappointment and hatred were visible in his eyes. In the corner of her eyes, she saw her mom and sister smirking at her and obviously enjoying the show that was about to start.

“Eira, what’s the meaning of this video, huh?! All this time you’re just fooling me that you’re studying, that you’re a good daughter when in fact you’re a w***e that sleeps with every man you encounter?!” his father angrily said to her.

“What are you saying, dad? What video? I’m innocent dad. I didn’t do anything that would make you angry, I swear!”, she said shakily as tears ran down to her face.

“Innocent, huh?!” his father slapped her hard on her face and showed her the video he was talking about. Her eyes widened when she saw the video. It was her with a man, doing dirty things together!

“B-but, it’s not me dad, believe me!” she begged, but she only cried harder when she saw the coldness in her father’s eyes.

“Liar!” he slapped her again the second time. Eira can’t move. She was shocked that her father slapped her two times, and, by the looks of it, he could do it again.

“I don’t have a w***e of a daughter! You’re not even my own flesh! I should’ve left you in the streets back then!” her mind went blank as soon as she heard her dad say that and before she could even move, her mom and sister grabbed her hair and kicked her outside their house.

They slammed the door before her face.

She kept on shouting their names, begging for them to open the door and saying sorry when the door suddenly opened. She thought that they would let her enter the house again, but her sister just threw her bag with a triumphful smile on her face.

“You heard what dad said, w***e. You have no place here since you don’t belong to this family! Finally, dad’s eyes were open and he saw how dirty you are, thanks to me” she added. That’s the moment she realized that it was her sister who had set her up!

“What did I ever do to you?” her sister just snorted with disgust.

“You stole dad’s attention! You stole him from us! All he talks about is how “good of a daughter” you are when in fact, you’re just a stranger to this family! You don’t belong here!”

“W-what? Why are you saying that? I’m a part of this family as well! I am your sister!”

Aika smirked, “who told you that you’re my sister? I never treated you as a sister, nor a family. As I’ve said, you’re just a stranger that’s been brought to this family by MY DAD. He just picked you up somewhere since he’s a very nice old man. Mom didn’t agree with it but he gave her no choice. Now your time in this family ends now. You’re back to where you belong, on the garbage!” she shouted and slammed the door right next to Eira’s face.

I can’t believe it. This was just a dream. Wake me up now. I don’t want this dream!

She then fell onto her knees and cried there for hours. Realizing that she could do nothing to change her “dad’s” mind, she gathered up her remaining strength to get up and picked up the things that they threw with her. Before finally leaving, she gave a final bow of respect to her father, and thanked him for what she had done for her.

On the other hand, two mysterious ladies were intensely watching her from a distance. Their eyes were watering from tears that they kept on holding just seeing Eira’s situation. Their fists were clenched and they wanted to hurt the family who hurt Eira, especially the mother and daughter, but they were holding themselves as they didn’t want to cause more trouble for the poor lady.

Eira kept on walking and walking. She doesn’t know where to go now. She’s not in her right mind either. It’s late in the evening now and she hasn’t eaten yet. She didn’t care. Her tears were now dried up. She was crossing the street mindlessly and suddenly a car was coming in her way and hit her.
