" I'm hooome! " Sandra shouted as she entered the mansion, her parents followed her.
Sandra is the only daughter of the Adedeji. She is Michael's younger sister.
Michael came downstairs after hearing her voice. " Hey sis" .
They both hugged. " Hey bro. How're you doing. '
' Mama ' He called. He hugged his mum as she came forward . " Good morning Mama "
" Good morning. How have you been ? "
" Great " He turned to his father and greeted him.
" But I thought you guys were coming home Next week "
" Ummm...That is all on me " Sandra said as she gave a side eye, looking suspicious.
" Yeah, that was her. She wanted to give you a surprise "
" Yeah, it was a bit of a surprise " He laughed .
Mary was up in her room preparing for work. She had already bathed and worn her clothes.
She wore her shoe and was hearing noise downstairs.
So she checked herself in the mirror to see if she was ready and wore lipgloss.
She took her bag downstairs, ready to go to work.
Sandra shrugged when she saw her. " She's still alive ! " She said sarcastically.
Mary looked at her and turned away.
Mr Adedeji turned to her " Can't you greet. Or Cat got your tongue . "
She turned to him and greeted him reluctantly.
" Hmmm.... I don't need your greeting , if I didn't tell you won't greet. Nonsense " .
She ignored him and left for work.
Mr Adedeji walked towards Michael and placed his right hand on his shoulder.
" Son you need to end it with this woman. I knew from the very day I saw her that she wasn't right for you " .
He shrugged and took some of their loads to the room .
Michael went back up to prepare for work.
At work, Mary was getting tensed about a particular court case. She was shouting and giving orders .
The case was about a politician who was accused of embezzlement . Hon. Kazeem Ahmad , a former Minister of work was accused by the EFCC of embezzling one hundred million naira and was arrested.
The case was a really prominent one . It was the first adjournment of the case. Mary was a little nervous. Although she was one of the best lawyer in Nigeria. She was still tensed.
" Arrange the files in order, I'm not going to repeat myself again " . She yelled.
The Staffs were taken aback. They did what she said immediately.
" Valerie, I hope you're prepared for this case, cause Mr Kazeem is one of our big client. "
Valerie smiled and nodded.
" Is it hard to say yes, if the judge asks you a question would you nod ? uhn ! "
" It's not like you're a judge " Someone muttered.
" Who said something? "
" No one ma'am " They said in unison.
" I'm sorry ma'am, I'm ready for the case " Valerie answered.
She dismissed all of them and reminded Valerie about the Adjournment time. She also wished her best of luck.
Meanwhile, at home, Michael was getting prepared for work.
His parents were settling down in their room , while Sandra was galavanting around the house.
Mabel had just arrived , She had not been around for a while . She went home to tend to her sick child.
She met Sandra on her way to the kitchen and was shocked . " Sandra ! When.... How.... But I thought..... " She stammered .
Sandra glared at her with disdain and walked out.
Sandra had never liked Mabel since she was little. It was because She told on her to her parents.

Sandra took her Mom's gold necklace and took it to school to show it off to her friends , not knowing that Mabel saw her. She lost the necklace and knew she was in trouble.
Mrs Adedeji was searching round for the necklace. Sandra and Michael had just arrived from school and saw their Mom parading the whole house looking worried.
" I can't find my necklace ! ' She said as she looked at both of them.
" Has anyone seen them ? "
Sandra got scared instantly denied it " I didn't see it, ummm....I thought you kept it in your jewelry box " She said as her body was shaking.
" I haven't seen it ' Michael said.
" I'm attending a friend's birthday party and I need it tomorrow . Besides we're traveling to the States next week and I need it for a business meeting "
The necklace was one of Mrs Adedeji most expensive necklace. It was a customized necklace gotten from a Cartier store in New York.
Mabel just got back from the market. " What's going on Madam ? " She seemed confused.
" Mabel have you seen my Customized gold necklace ? "
" Ummm ...." She paused and looked at Sandra.
Sandra got scared and shaked her head, signalling her not to tell.
" Sandra took it , I saw her this morning. I thought you were the one that asked her to take it that was why I didn't say anything " Mabel answered .
Mrs Adedeji boiled with anger.
" Where's the necklace? " She asked angrily.
" Umm...I ..I took it to school and misplaced it " She burst into tears.
Mrs Adedeji got furious and landed a hot slap on her face.
" The necklace cost five hundred thousand dollars . Are you for real? "
Sandra got shocked, because her Mom had never hit her before. And it was all because Mabel couldn't keep her mouth shut.
Ever since that day She had hated Mabel.

Mabel went upstairs to greet Mr and Mrs Adedeji. She knocked on their door.
" Who is it ? " Mrs Adedeji asked
" Mabel,Madam " She replied.
" Mabel, come in "
She entered their room. " Good afternoon Ma, Good afternoon Sir. I never knew you were coming today. "
" Yeah, We wanted to surprise our son . " Mr Adedeji answered.
" How was the trip ? "
" All good " Mrs Adedeji answered .
" What would you like me to prepare, I'm sure you must be tired. "
" Hmmm...Eforiro with pounded yam would do . And you know how I like my Efo ? " Mrs Adedeji answered.
Mabel laughed.
" Chunks of beef, cowhide, fish, with a savory taste." They both said in unison and laughed.
" You know me too well . "
Mabel left to prepare the meal.
