Five Years Later
“Babe, come on we’re going to be late for our flight,” Nathan called me from the other room.
Nathan is my fiancé, we’ve been engaged for six months now and I’m not going to lie, my life is pretty good.
After I left Brooklyn 5 years ago, I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life. All of this was not planned anyway, it was very sudden.
When I came back, I settled in my place next to my mom and Emma so I could stay close to them but still have my privacy. We were able to convince mom to go to the hospital and get treated and luckily, she’s doing better.
After a month or so, I decided to start searching for a job because I was a mess. I barely left the house and mostly sat in my room dreaming that I was still in Brooklyn.
