Chapter 2:The after math

The flashing light of the police car painted the the night in white and blue. sienna sat at the back of the ambulance , wrapped in a blanket that couldn't stop her from trembling .The gala was over , the elegance turned to chaos .guests whispered, camera clicked ,and everyone eyes seems to find her - and him.

Damien stood a few feet away , talking to detective with that same unnerving calm.His black suit was dusted with shattered glass ,his hands grazed with a small cut . Even blood looked elegant on him .She hated that she noticed .

When he finally turned towards her,she felt her chest tighten .He approached slowly, his expression unreadable .

"you should get checked at the hospital he said" ,he said ,voice low".

"I'm fine", she looked down , trying to ignore the warmth in her cheek's."you didn't have to _"

"Save you",his tone was sharp almost mocking."you're welcome,miss vale ".

"sienna's glare met his "Don't twist this into a heroic act ,Voss .you ruined lives with your business .one good deed doesn't change that ."

For a second,his eyes flicked -something dark, something hurt . Then it was gone, "you still think you know me", he said softly. "but you only ever saw what you wanted to see ".

Before she could respond, reporter's swarmed them , cameras flashed, microphone thrust forward.

"Mr Voss"!is it true you saved miss vale "

"Are you two involved"

"Was this attack targeted".

The way Damien slipped his hands through her waist was calculated -protective yet possessive, his voice was steady as he addressed the press .

"She is under my protection until the information ends ",he announced, no further comment ".

Her heart skipped . Under his protection ?what game was he playing ?

Later,as his car door shut behind them as the city blurred past ,She finally asked "what are you doing?"

"Controlling the narrative ",the world already thinks we are something .We might as well play along until the press dies down ". sienna folded her arms starring at him ,So what," you want to fake a relationship."?

His lips curved into that dangerous half smile . "Exactly.you and me ,miss vale .Let give them a story they will never forget ."

Her pulse sparked - and deep down she knew this was the beginning of her biggest mistakes .
